I came in to switch a phone number from one Verizon plan to another Verizon plan. The super kind employee informed me that we needed to call a customer service number while in the store to do this. Weird to have me call an Indian call center when I'm at the physical store but alright. I wait on hold for 25 minutes and finally get through. The customer service person doesn't seem to understand that I'm trying to switch a line. When I explain for the second time what I'm trying to do they hang up on me. I have to call back again and again after waiting for 20 minutes I get hung up on. I confirm with the store employees that I HAVE to go through this process. They can't just transfer the line. Turns out I could have just walked to the Xfinity store 30 feet away and transfered to a new plan over there. No calling. No waiting, just basic customer service. To the Verizon store employees, y'all were incredibly kind and helpful and it's a shame you have to take the brunt of customer anger over Verizon corporates moronic policies.
