I almost never write reviews, but really felt the need to with this experience. My husband took my 15lb pup to get her annual vaccine and heartworm checkup. Like every dog going to the vet she gets very nervous and is a shaky girl, but very stoic when it comes to anything medical. We were told she wasn’t able to have any work done because she was just “too anxious” after she was taken in the back for maximum a few minutes and told to come back another day with Gabapentin and Trazadone. We were quoted over $400 for the visit, vaccines, and heartworm test which is absurd. When I looked at the proposed invoice, they were also trying to sneak in a fecal exam that we did not request and wasn’t communicated (I saw another reviewer experience the same thing), and had her listed as a neutered male. I really feel like she was not cared for at all with this facility. I used to work at a vet and have total sympathy for the hard work they do, but unfortunately I would never recommend this establishment based on the care received. We ended up going to Vetco through Petco and for her vaccines, heartworm test, and dewormer it was $155. And she did absolutely fantastic with all the vet techs there who made her feel comfortable. Strange to see her denied care for just being shaky, and it really seems like other people have a similar experience. Avoid going here if you can, you’ll be disappointed.

I cherished VCA because of the two veterinarians, whom I trust and have had the pleasure of working with previously. However, after losing my dear senior cat, Piithai, the sympathy card I received, signed by only two people, felt like a disheartening reminder that gets harder to see if they truly cared, and it breaks my heart. Although I was informed it was due to the new policy as per the manager, given the manager's past unexplained issue with me, it's challenging to help but feel it's intentional and feels like a test of my faith. Despite this, I'm exploring other vet clinics, seeking a place that aligns with my expectations and provides the care that resonates with me.

This veterinary clinic was extremely unprofessional and appeared to prioritize financial gain over the welfare and compassion our pets deserve. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this facility to anyone who truly considers their pets to be part of the family. I also believe the Humane Society on SW Washington should carefully reconsider its relationship with this clinic in Vancouver, Washington, due to the level of care and professionalism we encountered.

Happy to have them schedule me same day since I wanted my rescue addition seen sooner than later, I had an exam for my dog and the staff was overall fine, she had her exam and then they went over recommendations for services and prices, they were more expensive than our usual vet, Vetco and good neighbor vet, I asked about the free exam and free parasite she said “oh I didn’t know you wanted to do that, and the parasite medication is only if you purchase something” I couldn’t find the coupon but what do you know it’s advertised all over for new clients..so I guess they simply didn’t care to have my dog parasite protected even after confirming the new client free exam and seeing that my rescue already wasn’t in amazing condition. The moment they knew we weren’t spending money with them was the moment they wanted to shoo us out 🤔 + staff upon walking in could use some smiles.. I like Vetco a lot! They offer tons of information and I actually learned that my bengals get a totally different vaccination than normal cats thanks to them! Don’t go to vca choose Vetco.
