  As the fur mom of a senior cat, I’ve visited this location on multiple occasions, but my most recent visit really stood out to me. Taking my senior girl to the vet can be incredibly anxiety-inducing because there’s always that fear that one day I’ll be told it’s time to make an incredibly difficult decision. During our most recent visit, the Veterinary Assistant, Diego, was so friendly, patient, and compassionate with both of us. While comforting my cat during her exam, Diego took the extra time to gently clean the eye boogers from her eyes. It may seem like such a small gesture, but as a pet parent, those little acts of kindness mean so much. During our previous visit, Diego was the one who told me that she had lost weight. He could immediately see how upset I was, and instead of simply moving on, he took her to the back and reassured me that they had weighed her again to make sure they had an accurate reading. That extra effort and compassion meant more to me than he probably realized. When you have a senior pet, you remember the people who treat them with genuine kindness and care. Diego is one of those people. I’m incredibly grateful for the compassion he has shown my girl and for making what can be a very stressful experience a little easier for both of us.

  I only see Dr. Shackleford. Her mannerism with my pet is the best. She has helped us through difficult diagnoses and decisions, even when money was tight.

  VCA Woodbridge Animal Hospital was there when we needed them. Professional and very thorough in our emergency. Dr Boyce took the lead and was terrific in every way. We are now all in on VCA. Not a hard decision to make at all.

  This business hid my previous review so this is attempt #2. I would never recommend this place so long as I live. They are unreasonably priced for their ER services and do not provide true emergency services. My dog went blind seemingly overnight, and they provided the wrong diagnosis and made me think this wasn’t a concerning issue of an otherwise healthy and young dog going blind. This prevented me in giving him necessary, potentially live-saving treatment for about 5 days, which let the disease keep attacking him. From losing his eyesight to having to be euthanized was about a 2 week timespan. This business has never taken responsibility for the role they played in my dog’s rapidly declining health. I have attempted to file numerous complaints which are investigated internally and of course they can never find any wrong doing. All I have requested from them is the money back I paid for poor service and lack of proper care, and bettering their practice so this never happens to another dog ever again. Take caution and if you truly care for your furry friend, take them elsewhere. Attached is a healthy photo of my dog and a photo during his last few days.

  Not for emergencies! VCA Woodbridge does not like our dogs. They are never treated during the initial ER visit, and it has cost us thousands. Our female frenchie was seen multiple times over a 2 month period before she was properly treated for a severe pyoderma and anal gland infection. We take photos, videos and document everything. Suffering that long, not being treated, is just cruel. Our male frenchie was seen today in ER after 10 days of vomiting. He is IVDD, post paralysis and spine surgery and has a multitude of health issues. After an 800$ fee, no answer, no treatment, still vomiting. We were told that VCA does not offer sonograms and that we would need to take our dog elsewhere. VCA is our primary veterinarian. Clearly not the place to take your dogs for emergency treatment.
