They’re willing to tell you that you need to schedule a visit, don’t do anything during the visit, and then charge you a lot of money for it. I am changing vets I don’t like this place anymore. I called to pick up a prescription to treat a specific allergic reaction my cat had gotten twice before in the past year. Last time he had a reaction I was able to just grab the medicine because we knew what he had. But when I called this time they told me I needed to come in because apparently it wasn’t ok to use the medicine this many times. They would let me grab the medicine in advance but I needed to schedule a separate appointment so they could do testing to figure out what was causing the allergic reaction. They made it seem really important that I come in and do this and called me again just to make sure I was coming. Turns out they don’t even do allergy testing, I have to go to a specialist for that. They just looked at him said he was fine and told me to keep using the same medication they let me pick up earlier. A vet nurse there told me that she knew a cat that would get the same allergic reaction and that it wasn’t a big deal. That cat kept needing the medication every 2-3months and lived until 20. They made me come in for nothing and then charged me 82 dollars for a 5 minute interaction of them doing nothing. When I asked why I was being charged so much when they didn’t do any testing, they just said sorry I don’t know why someone told you all that. They said I still had to pay a rechecking fee though and that they were giving me a discount by not charging me 150 for a full check up. They knew I was upset about being misled into a large unnecessary charge but cared more that I paid. I didn’t even want to come in because I knew they would charge me like this but they made it seem like I had to come in. One time I came in to get some vacations done and I asked a couple general health questions about my cat and only found out they were counting that as a full check up when they charged me an extra 150 on the receipt. They seem nice and friendly when you talk to them so I didn’t want to think of them as greedy like that. But after this I wouldn’t recommend going to a place that cares more about what they can get away with charging you.

My first time here with my pet was amazing. The doctors are kind and informative as well as the staff. My puppy did so well with their first exam. I can’t wait to bring her back for more services.

Y’all. I seriously love VCA Pets First! They are so friendly and efficient. The office is always tidy and comfortable. I’ve been bringing my cat to them for 6 years and couldn’t imagine taking her to a better group of caregivers! If you’re looking for a great vet office in this area, look no further.

This was our first visit to VCA. While our vet was running moderately late, it was obvious that it was because she takes her time thoroughly with her patients. Dr. Mays and her tech was so sweet, informational and helpful. We will definitely be back.
