  WARNING TO PET OWNERS: Care Club Breach, Denied Care, and Withheld RecordsOver the last 3 to 4 years, the standard of care and customer experience at VCA New Kent has steadily declined. It has turned into a chaotic corporate revolving door where you never see the same veterinarian twice, front office staff are fundamentally confused, and they aggressively push upsells over patient comfort.Today (August 14, 2026) was the breaking point. After confirming my appointment twice, the clinic rescheduled at the last minute, forcing me to unexpectedly take more time off work. When I arrived, they were entirely unprepared. They sent an untrained employee into the room who aggressively demanded I sign a financial estimate for the visit—despite the fact that my dog Bear’s care is entirely pre-paid via our monthly VCA Care Club membership.When the veterinarian finally came in and I voiced my legitimate concerns about the scheduling chaos and the staff's administrative confusion, she explicitly told me that handling clinic operations "was not her job." I was then forced to wait for the Hospital Manager, who retaliated by hostilely telling me she was severing our relationship on the spot.I spent two hours driving and waiting. No medical care was provided to my pet. The manager promised to refund 6 months of my Care Club fees and email my dog's medical records. Instead, I left with zero care, no confirmation or tracking of a refund on my card, and they are actively withholding my dog's legal medical files.VCA New Kent happily took my pre-paid monthly dues, refused my dog his scheduled vaccines, wasted my work hours, and is now withholding my pet's legal medical history while keeping my money. Avoid this corporate trap at all costs. I have filed formal complaints with the Virginia Department of Health Professions and initiated fraud chargebacks with my bank.
