My cat got neutered and the experience was NOT GOOD. The surgery seemed to go well, but the price was unbelievable, around $1,200 bucks. What really ticked me off was post-surgery, as they provided a cheap, LOW-QUALITY cone to protect my cat from licking himself. I had to be up with him all night because he kept getting off the cone, and on one occasion he had started ASPHYXIATING on the bandage that they tied around his cone, to the point that I had to grab scissors to get it off of him so he could breathe again. When I called the next day to ask for an alternative, they offered to sell me a body suit to protect the surgical area, and straight up the person that responded told me they were UPSELLING it and that I should go to a store to get one. I was taken aback because I thought it'd be complementary since the cone they gave me didn't work and they had already charged me so much money, but that wasn't the case. If I could do it all over again I would look for a different place, because now I’m afraid of going back there if my cat’s surgery area gets infected since his cone doesn’t fit him properly and I didn't find a body suit at the pet store (and the one I bought online hasn't arrived yet) and I don’t even want to know how much they would charge me to treat him then. Overall, GREEDY. Find a different place!! Unless you want to feel like Jurgis from Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle."

One of their veterinary associates did a procedure on my cat without my approval.

I absolutely love the team at VCA Alexandria! They are all very kind and knowledgeable, and most importantly they are patient. Dr. Chiang has done so much to take care of my two dogs and cat while successfully and kindly navigating all their (and my) anxieties along the way. Dr. Siegel has also been hugely understanding of my older dog’s spiciness. The technicians are also really great at handling anxious animals. Going to the vet isn’t an easy process for us, but the VCA team really go out of their way to make it less stressful. They (and Dr. Chiang) came highly recommended to me by a friend when I moved to the area, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone else looking for quality care for their babies. Most everyday services I have found to be reasonably priced, except maybe nail trims ($75) and they do offer a punch card and Care Club for some better deals.

The staff is amazing and caring. They take good care of our fur babies and they always follow up when they are ill.

The personnel was very friendly. I left a couple of bluebirds that needed help from wildlife rescue. There's no charge in this case so I can't comment on that for regular pet care. I found plenty of parking spots. Centric location near old town Alexandria.
