  Based off of my first visit: The staff was condescending and rude. Ivy treated me like I was stupid for not being aware that their online coupon was only valid at one location. When you are in a high stress situation or an emergency like I was they are of the least comfort/help. Not the energy me or my cat needed at the time. After being put on a 3 hour waitlist and after HAVING A FLEA hang out on my hand while signing in I decided to take my cat to a DIFFERENT hospital. PLEASE do your research before trusting them with your pet. Thanks.

  Having a stressed out and injured pet warranting a visit to the animal hospital in the middle of the night is always a traumatic affair. My dog had an aural hematoma surgery at a different location that was apparently wrapped up quite poorly. The bandages fell off within a couple hours and my dog was in immense pain and actively bleeding. VCA Animal Hospital was able to handle the unfortunate situation effectively. I want to especially thank Maxine. Maxine truly went above and beyond and was exceptionally helpful, knowledgeable, and able to add calm to an otherwise highly chaotic situation. Thank you, Maxine!!

  This place is a joke, got there at 2:45 checked in was told it would be an hour and a half wait. I was accused of taking myself off the list then they didn't have my phone number correct. Finally taken back at 6 pm told another 20 minute wait that ended up being another hour and 20 minutes. Not to mention I ubered there 45 minutes then walked out to Uber myself back another 45 minutes.I think it was bc I was an out of tower is my guess my phone number being from out of town was brought up by the front desk. Or maybe its to pay the 7:30 pm fee

  **Changing my review from a 1 star to a 4 star** I left a 1 star review previously, as I had assumed that VCA cottonwood had given my cat a limp during his exam for constipation. I used to work in vet medicine, and my experiences has allowed me to see into the other side of the vet industry rather than just being the client in the waiting room. I knew accidents could happen, but he had a severe limp. I left a poor review out of frustration and the hospital asked me to contact them. I did, and the hospital manager was kind on the phone. They got my cat in to see a medical director quite quickly despite his busy schedule, and told me my cat most likely tore his ACL or sprained it severely which is a rare condition for a cat. His limp is better now and they quoted me for surgery, but for now I’m monitoring it and he’s doing much better. Hoping to get surgery for him ASAP. Sorry for the past confusion, and thanks VCA Cottonwood for taking him in and giving him another look over.

  I called Saturday evening to find out about wait times I had an urgent matter, but not emergency. They asked if I wanted to be on the virtual waiting room list, but then but me on hold to make sure there was a doctor (?!). They came back to the call and said I could just come in and they had a room for me. Great so I packed up and headed over- when I got there less than 15 minutes after they told me to come, I had to fill out a form and was put on the virtual wait room list. Told to go home and I’d get a call in an hour or two. Fine, annoying but it is what it is. However they NEVER called me. SO ANNOYING I wouldn’t have bothered going in at all but they told me they had space . Bad experience , and if there is one thing I look for in a vet, it’s a honest and knowledgeable front desk staff. Will not be trying again VEG in Sandy is amazing and I won’t make the mistake of not going there again
