Dr Paul Belnap... before even examining my 18 month old 45 pound dog on 8/3 decided she was having back problems and that was the reason for her lethargy and said she needed xrays. ($$)
She had just short of a 104 degree fever! she had some sort of bug which was very obvious to the vet tech who actually listened to me and requested Belnap take another look and ONLY THEN did my dog get a sort of treatment. (THANK YOU VET TECH! IM SO SORRY I DIDNT CATCH YOUR NAME. I was so worried about my dog)
I left with meds and no understanding of their benefit and they were all tied into BACK ISSUES.
My dog has recovered and is doing well with no signs of back issues. The fever was most likely tied to a vaccine...
This is the second situation where Belnap has suggested wild scenarios with my pets.
I'm disappointed. Do better.

I brought my dog Odie to VCA Cottonwood Animal Hospital at approximately 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, because he had been suffering from serious gastrointestinal symptoms since Thursday night.
I paid $704.71 that morning, including $163.30 for the emergency examination, $358.94 for bloodwork, and $170.19 for a fecal parasite test. I paid emergency-hospital prices because I believed that bringing a sick animal to a 24/7 emergency facility would result in urgent testing, communication, and answers.
It is now Wednesday morning, July 29. Odie is still sick, my other dogs have also developed gastrointestinal symptoms, and I still do not have the fecal-test results.
I later learned that the fecal sample was not even going to be processed until Monday. If a test cannot be performed over the weekend, that limitation and the actual turnaround time should be clearly disclosed before accepting payment—especially when someone is paying more than $700 for emergency care.
Emergency veterinary care should mean more than having the doors open around the clock and collecting payment immediately. It should include urgency, proactive communication, and follow-through while the animal is still sick. Four days after the sample was collected, I am still waiting for information that could help determine what is affecting Odie and whether my other dogs require treatment.
VCA had immediate access to my money Saturday morning. Unfortunately, the same sense of urgency has not applied to getting answers for my sick dog.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend VCA Cottonwood Animal Hospital for emergency gastrointestinal care.

Went into the hospital for emergency care for my dog- explained the problem with my dog- There was a 2-4 hour wait time? I was told I did not have to wait there, but could come back later. The place did not look busy I was the only one there at the reception area at the time. I ended up keeping my appointment with another vet later that day. This was an absolute JOKE!

We had an appointment for vaccinations and a fee questions. Our tech, Lindsay was very informative and friendly not to mention, personable! She had insight into my questions and was comforting about some issues our Winnie had!! Dr. KentJones was also very informative and patient with all of my questions and offered great options to keep Winnie in tip top shape. Thank you all for being our heroes when we have trouble with our beloved Winnie!!!

Edit- I emailed them like they asked and they never got back to me. Not great.
Original- They DO NOT ACCEPT SCRATCH PAY here. No matter how many times they offer it up or say they can take "scratch payments" from those of us who are low income or struggling, no one there knows how it works or how to get it working with them. No one. I spoke with every tech, vet, and stayed on hold with them for hours while my cat was in the er.
The british nighttime ER Vet is amazing and thorough however, I loved her. Screw VCA for pretending they take scratch pay though.
