If I could give negative stars, I most certainly would. I took my 7 year old Aussie here on 3 occasions in 2 months to the VCA The Woodlands TX, and he was treated for an upper respiratory infection. During his 1st exam, they detected a heart murmur ( grade 4/6) this heart murmur was never addressed, they simply said it would need to be monitored. 2 months later, my sweet Aussie is gone! I rushed him to another clinic on 5/10/26 at 5pm, and they spent 8 hours fighting to save him, ultimately, he couldnt be saved. His heart was terribly enlarged and encased in fluid and his lungs were struggling. The vet couldnt believe that VCA never prescribed heart medication, and said if they had, my sweet boy might still be here. I am so angry and my heart is broken. He was by my side for 7 1/2 years....stayed with me every second when I battled cancer, now he is gone! So now I am making payments on a large vet bill to this place that is responsible for him being gone!

Dr Harris helped save my dog. I had previously brought him to another VCA because he had a weird spot on him. They were unable to diagnose it properly. Dr Harris knew exactly was it was. It was MCT grade 2 and they were able to remove for further spreading. Can't thank them enough.

This vet has an agreement with pet fair to cover certain costs for your first visit. At this appointment, I Asked multiple times if the Out of house, fecal screening would be covered and was told yes. I clarify this with the assistant multiple times when consenting to pay for the out of house screening. I also asked Dr. Wendy Harris to clarify again by asking, “ And Pet Fair Will cover the cost if it’s test tested positive?” To which she responded “Yes, they will cover the cost of the treatment.” Because I had already gotten confirmation multiple times from the assistant, I didn’t seek further clarification that the screening was included in the treatment. Granted, Dr. Wendy Harris did not know about the miscommunication by her assistant. However, during a phone call to clear this up, I’m explaining the misunderstanding and what I know I heard very calmly and politely, and she responds Very pointedly, “now I know for a fact that’s not what happened.” When she was not in the room during the multiple times I deemed clarification from her assistant. And I know that I was clear with my wording because he had already received a negative fecal test in house and was not going to pay for one out of house unless Pet Fair was going to cover if it turned out positive. When I told her that I didn’t appreciate her responding so shortly with me when I’m trying to be polite, she says, “well I know that assistant, she’s great.” I said, “Yes, she was great, but obviously there was a miscommunication because I would not have consented and paid for the test if I had known Pet Fair would not be covering it g it turned out positive.” She interrupted me and said “just, stop.” This was extremely frustrating and unprofessional.

Not a vet I recommend. They are about 3 times more expensive than any other vet. Money is prioritized over the care for your pet. I have had my puppy less than a month and I’ve spent over almost 800$. I brought my puppy in the first time and she had a cough. They brushed it off like it was not a big deal. Turned out to be kennel cough. Wasn’t told to quarantine her and how contagious she was to other dogs. I now have 4 other sick dogs. They failed to diagnose her properly. They don’t do consults in the room with you… so you honestly have no clue how your pet is treated between closed doors. I feel like this place is money hungry and that’s all they care about. They offer a puppy package to help with vaccinations, deworming etc. but you don’t get discounts on medications and it cost over 85$ A MONTH. You can get more affordable care and better care for your pet elsewhere. I am actively looking for a better, more affordable place to go.

Sadly, with many changes to the animal clinic our dogs had been going to for many years, we felt it was time to find a closer clinic. We were looking for the animal care we had before our last clinic grew too large. Our search lead us to Dr. Harris and the wonderful staff at VCA Woodlands. What great care our dogs are receiving! Everyone has been so caring and knowledgeable. Long term care is projected, on a budget, this helps tremendously. A serious health concern, previously undetected, is now being addressed. I don't feel rushed, questions are answered, our pups are sent home with whatever is needed and most importantly, our dogs are treated with compassion. They aren't just another number coming through the door. Vet care is expensive everywhere. VCA doesn't seem overinflated as some I looked into when changing clinics. All costs are discussed so there have been no surprises. I have no doubt we made the correct choice with Dr. Harris, John, Dominique and everyone else we've encountered at VCA.
