I had took my dog in for many concerns I had(she was throwing up, had trouble breathing, and had a firm stomach) and they gave her an x-ray(which NO ONE showed to us) to see what could it possibly be in her stomach, they told us they would have to send it off to a radiologist because they couldn’t tell what it was themselves. They overlooked her breathing and said it was allergies and sent us home with nothing, they hadn’t contact us about results when they said they were, I was the one trying to call and get answers, it took them a week to get results back to me saying it was a cyst and we needed to discuss terms of life(my baby is 2 years old.) and within that week her breathing had worsen. I took her to another vet and they immediately told me what was wrong with her(she has cancer) and if I knew earlier, it probably wouldn’t had gotten worse. The staff was nice but it’s the lack of knowledge the vet has, or even the remorse.. instead of trying to actually see what was wrong with my pet, they took my $600 just to say it was a cyst and suggested I end my 2 year old pet’s life. What a joke. Save your money and go to someone who actually cares.

Want to give a special thank you to Dr. Johnson for going above and beyond for my son/ fur baby Mr. Bobby a/k/a Bob. She has been looking into the latest research to help find treatment options and the best care plan for him and I could not be more thankful. I honestly wish that some of my doctors were as thorough and cared as much about their patients as Dr. Johnson does about our pets. Thank you again Doctor Johnson.

I’ve been to this clinic twice now, and both times have waited in the lobby for at least 1.5 hours past my appointment time. The staff are polite. The first time, I thought sure everyone has bad days. Waited in the lobby for about 2 hours, then waited in the exam room around 20-30 minutes. The second time, I saw that it was a recurring issue. I was there for one lepto booster vaccine only. They say “we are running a little behind today”, which is fine, but to me that means maybe 30 minutes, not over an hour. I finally decided to spare myself and went back up to the desk to cancel my appointment, and suddenly they were able to see me right away. They discounted the vaccine, which is nice since it’s outrageously expensive anyways at $75, but it doesn’t solve the problem. They consistently overbook themselves and are not actually upfront about how long you will be waiting there. They need to actually address the issue, lighten their schedule or increase the duration of the appointment times, and tell people how long they are ACTUALLY going to be waiting. If I hadn’t gone up to leave who knows how long they would’ve kept me there waiting. This is my third VCA location I’ve been a client at over the last several years of moving around San Antonio, and this has been the worst experience I’ve had. You’d think for a vet clinic that charges so much they’d be more on top of it.

I love the special attention and care this animal hospital always gives me and my fur babies. My dog/child just recently woke up with an ear hematoma and this is the only place I would take him. Because I know he’ll get the best possible treatment. Dr. Fay immediately helped me with advice and a plan. Cindy and Tracey always provide amazing support and loving care. Even though my dog can be a little difficult to work with, that never stops them from taking the best care of him. This is the only place I truly feel comfortable taking my babies. Thank you so much!! ❤️
