  I want to compliment the exceptional care that my dog Peatey has received at VCA Castle Hills from Dr. Sonia Saldaña. My companion dog has a complex case with a poor prognosis. I was presented with options, treatment plans and given guidance on how to proceed. Dr. Saldaña stays current on new treatments and protocols and is an empathetic practioner - with pets and their owners. The technicians obviously love their work and they made me comfortable. Making appointments is easy and accessible online. The front office staff is helpful.

  The worst veterinary experience I’ve ever had. My cat was not properly examined, I was given medications without a clear explanation or diagnosis, and the visit cost me $545. When I asked about possible causes and what could be wrong, the veterinarian essentially told me that his patients don’t talk to him and that he didn’t know. My cat is now in critical condition. I expected competent care, answers, and a thorough evaluation—not this. Extremely disappointing and unacceptable service.

  Didn’t really like the service for my kitten. Checking heart rate they used alcohol to stop his purring so they could hear the heart rate. I know this can be damaging it was used multiple times which I didn’t like. Kept going back and forth wasn’t prepared for questioning about medication. Wasn’t given a full diagnosis they said it was probably something but never fully diagnosed. Was over priced but I know since he is a kitten medication will be pricey. I didn’t feel comfortable with the check up. Every question i asked they kept stepping out to consult. Waited for the doctor for 30mins and only saw them for a short amount of time. Once again I do understand they have a-lot of patients but I would’ve liked more time to express my concerns and what alternatives can I do to help my kitten get better. I probably won’t be coming here again not my first choice.

  Why is it that VCA charges me 8xs more than Alamo height pet clinic? They charge me $280 to spade my dog compared to VCA $1,500 . Then her yearly shots are only about $200 something at Alamo height pet clinic compared to VCA $600 plus dollars? Why is there such a high bill then Vca did nothing for my dogs front paw and arthritis when I mentioned it to them im not going to ask them again because I am scared I fear what they are going to charge me. When I mentioned this to a front desk the lady said take her back to Alamo heights . No there is something really wrong here
