Why is it that VCA charges me 8xs more than Alamo height pet clinic? They charge me $280 to spade my dog compared to VCA $1,500 . Then her yearly shots are only about $200 something at Alamo height pet clinic compared to VCA $600 plus dollars? Why is there such a high bill then Vca did nothing for my dogs front paw and arthritis when I mentioned it to them im not going to ask them again because I am scared I fear what they are going to charge me.
When I mentioned this to a front desk the lady said take her back to Alamo heights . No there is something really wrong here

I had an absolutely awesome experience at VCA Hospital with Dr. Saldana and Wendy. From the moment I walked in, Wendy greeted me with genuine warmth and empathy. She lovingly asked every intake question with care and made sure she understood my dogs’ conditions and all of their needs.
Because I have two dogs, they scheduled back‑to‑back appointments so neither of them had to wait — something I truly appreciate. My dogs were in dire need of attention, and the moment their amazing team took them to the back, they addressed everything: vaccines, stool checks, microchips, preventative medications, blood work, food and weight concerns, calming meds for barking and anxiety, and even treatment for worms I didn’t know one had.
Dr. Saldana was extraordinary. While I was busy reassuring my babies, she wrote down every instruction, explained what was normal and what wasn’t, made me laugh, and lovingly guided me through every detail. She made sure my expectations were clear in every area of their care and gave me comfort and reassurance during a stressful moment.
I’m grateful that the visit was free, and even more grateful for the payment plans they have for my dogs’ continued care.
The next day, I received follow‑up calls with all the results and documentation for my records — organized, thorough, and so professional.
I left feeling relieved, blessed, and deeply comforted. My dogs are my world.
Thank you, Dr. Saldana and Wendy, for treating my dogs like family and giving us peace when we needed it most.🙏💖

So we have used the VCA veterinarian clinic before but at Oak Hill location. And I must say the experience there was way better in comparison. The atmosphere is more welcoming. But most importantly the veterinarians are more personable and to me that's very important especially when you're there because your family pet that most people considered like family is going through something. But at this particular location Dr Saldana was not very pleasant. She made a few comments that came office condescending and we're not very appreciated. I was sharing with her that it's hard for me to be able to determine a change in my cat's behavior as she's not very vocal and she's not very affectionate. To what she replied "yeah because she's a cat." Which is pretty obvious to say the least. But I've seen others who have cats who are very vocal and very affectionate. She actually made that statement twice. Now Wendy her assistant excellent at her job!! The front counter receptionist very nice. Secondly when she called the next day for a follow-up she didn't introduce herself as the veterinarian from the VCA veterinary clinic. And I wasn't able to identify who she was and said I don't think I have a doctor that I see with your name. She said I'm the veterinarian and the tone of her voice was very unfriendly. She should have began the call with hello this is the veterinarian from the VCA animal clinic etc in my opinion. So although I appreciate the assistance and care they provided if the future I have to return to the veterinarian's office it definitely won't be this location.
