  Danielle at the front desk has a horrible attitude and zero professionalism. I called today to ask two quick questions, and she was completely disrespectful and dismissive. If this is how they treat people over the phone, imagine them with my dog. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

  For over two decades, Bent Tree Animal Hospital has been the trusted caretaker of our dogs. Even after a move put over 20 miles and countless other animal hospitals between us, the drive is always worth it. Every single staff member is extraordinary. Diane is an absolute treasure and the perfect first and last point of contact, and the vet techs and veterinarians are truly top-tier. Bent Tree isn't just a clinic; they are family. They cared for our first puppy, Mesa, from her earliest days to her final moments, and have shown that same boundless love to Pearl, Sherlock, and Oslo. Having them stand by us through both the joy of new additions and the heartbreak of saying goodbye to Mesa and Sherlock has meant the world to us. As long as we have furry family members, we'll be with Bent Tree!

  VCA definitely gained a new patient they got my puppy in as soon as they can Dr. Lorena Gutierrez is the best got my puppy examined and was the sweetest person ever will definitely continue my puppy’s care with this facility !

  If you go to this vet, get your pet’s medical records - not just their vaccination status, but also their full medical history! I brought my pet in last year and she was supposed to get her shots updated. I remember discussing each vaccination and they updated her records, but the records were updated incorrectly (2 year expiration on a one year vaccine) and the invoice didn’t show that she had received it at all. She almost went two years without her vaccine while I was under the impression she was up to date because I used her records as my source of truth. Now I have her full medical history since I’ve moved in the last year and I’m not going back to a vet that put my pet’s health at risk. As I’m reading it, there’s notes of conversations that supposedly occurred with me less than a month ago that never happened! I’m now uncovering other health issues that they didn’t tell me about.

  PLEASE READ!!! I brought our dog, Leeroy, to VCA Bent Tree twice, where he was seen both times by Dr. Lorena Gutierrez (March 6 and 9), before final visit with a different provider. From the beginning, Leeroy had serious symptoms, including lethargy, loss of appetite, and increased thirst and urination. His initial bloodwork showed significant abnormalities and these findings indicated a serious kidney-related issue and required a thorough diagnostic workup. A kidney infection was suspected, then confirmed. However, a urine culture was NEVER performed at EITHER visit. A urine culture is not the same as a urinalysis; it is the test used to confirm which specific infection is present and to determine which specific antibiotic will actually be effective. INSTEAD, Leeroy was prescribed a broad-spectrum antibiotic without a culture to guide treatment. Because of this, his condition rapidly decline with great pain and suffering for him. By the time we learned independently that a urine culture is a STANDARD STEP in diagnosing and properly treating suspected kidney infections, Leeroy’s condition had significantly worsened. He ultimately deteriorated to the point where we had to make the decision to end his life. This is not a matter of hindsight or minor differences in approach. The sequence is straightforward: a serious kidney issue was identified through symptoms and lab abnormalities, infection was suspected then confirmed, but the one test used to confirm the infection and guide treatment was never performed ACROSS TWO VISITS. Treatment was given without that information, and there was no improvement. That omission left us without key information at a time when it mattered most. Pet owners rely on veterinary providers to complete the full diagnostic process when serious conditions are being considered. In situations like this, where kidney infection is on the table and bloodwork already shows significant abnormalities, omitting a urine culture removes the ability to accurately diagnose and appropriately treat the condition. major kidney-related abnormalities, owners should not have to discover on their own that a urine culture was never done. In my case, that delay had devastating consequences. Based on this experience, I would strongly urge others to not let their animals be treated by Lorena Gutierrez. We received a sincere apologies from other staff, even got our money back, and were promised our other animals would not be treated by this vet (we have four more). It is needless to say that NONE of that matters. Death is so final and Leeroy’s could’ve been prevented. Him and our family were failed by an expert we trusted with our boy’s life. Leeroy was a rescue dog saved from abuse situation. He deserved better than walking out of the clinic without proper help from professionals, twice, and ultimately us walking out without him. I am attaching his blood results so you can see it for yourself.
