  The staff here is impeccable. Respectful, prompt, friendly, helpful. I couldn't have asked for a better experience under duress. Our cat was injured and they got to us right away. They were attentive to our cats needs he was fighting the medications to sedate him them to take x-rays. I just couldn't ask for a better respectable veterinarian office.

  I drove over an hour from Newberry for my cat’s very first wellness checkup, and I am extremely disappointed with the care provided by VCA' vet Joanna Morel. Rather than a standard examination, my cat received well below the bare minimum. During the visit, no basic diagnostic tools were used: No stethoscope was used to check his heart or lungs. No otoscope or light was used to examine his ears—she simply pulled his ears back quickly with her hands and glanced in. No ophthalmoscope/light was used to inspect his eyes. No proper abdominal palpation was performed. She lifted him under his arms while he was facing toward me however never actually examined or felt his abdomen. When the flea comb was ran through his fur twice he had a bit of hair and dander in the teeth. I asked "What was the cause for that?" I received a " I don't have an answer for you." When I asked about his scratching under his neck, she dismissed my concern and claimed that fleas only live right above the tail. When I asked questions to better understand the process as a first-time patient, Joanna Morel became agitated. It was though my lack of prior familiarity with veterinary protocols was taken advantage of, resulting in a rushed, incomplete exam. A first wellness visit should establish a proper baseline for a pet's health. What we received was an incomplete visual glance...under the bare minimum. I would NOT recommend Joanna Morel for a thorough wellness exam. I would recommend a different vet or different location.

  They diagnosed Shady & scheduled an emergency procedure for first thing the following morning. Very caring & knowledgeable staff, beautiful & clean facility. A professional and pleasant experience from start to finish. Thanx guys! 😁

  We have found our trusted vet for our newly adopted pup! We were so impressed! The staff is wonderful! They were great with our little man, Dexter. He had to get all 5 vaccines and a heart worm test. They kept him calm and he didn’t even blink an eye. Here’s the kicker- reasonable prices. They offer Care Club, so for $44/ month you get unlimited exams, free vaccines, free fecal exams, heartworm tests, blood tests, and urinalysis. This program is the way to go, we would have spent hundreds on his vaccines alone. This would be especially beneficial for a pet parent needing frequent exams/ checkups. We go back in a few weeks for his free boosters, and I’ll schedule my free blood test (because why not?). HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

  I had to make the heartbreaking decision to put my elderly cat down today. When I first called, I spoke with Beth, and she was incredibly kind, compassionate, and understanding. She took the time to answer my questions and made a very difficult phone call feel a little easier. When I called back later with additional questions, she was just as patient and caring. Today, during the appointment, everyone we encountered was gentle, respectful, and supportive. I unfortunately do not remember the assistant’s or the doctor’s names, but they truly understood the pain our family was feeling and treated us with such compassion throughout the entire process. If you are looking for a veterinary office with a truly heartfelt, caring, and home-like atmosphere, I highly recommend this place. Their kindness during one of the hardest days of our lives meant more than words can express.
