  ⭐ 1-Star Review — Cricket Wireless, Yorktown Plaza, West 12th Street I have been a Cricket customer for many years, and I have always liked the actual wireless service. Unfortunately, my experience with the customer service at this particular Cricket location has been extremely disappointing. I arrived at the store at approximately 6:53 PM, while the store was still open and the doors were open to the public. Instead of receiving assistance, I felt that the employee was trying to get me out of the store because closing time was approaching. I was told that customer service was already closed and that they could not assist me. I explained that I have been a Cricket customer for years and understood that customer service was still available. The employee claimed that she was contacting customer service, but when she showed me the screen, I did not see a conversation or evidence that anyone had actually responded. When I attempted to check the screen myself, I was not allowed to do so. I began recording what was happening because I wanted an accurate record of my experience. At that point, the situation became even more confrontational. A manager was contacted, but instead of resolving the situation calmly, the interaction escalated to the point where the police were called. I remained calm and explained my side of the situation to the officers. During the incident, there was also a dispute involving my iPad, which belongs to me. I was told that I would not receive it back unless I stopped recording and deleted the recording. I was extremely uncomfortable with that situation. The police eventually arrived and handled the situation. From my understanding of what the officers explained at the scene, I was permitted to record the interaction, and they also addressed the dispute involving my property. What disappoints me the most is that this was completely unnecessary. I simply wanted customer service for a Cricket account that I have been paying for. Instead, I felt like I was being pushed out of the store, and the situation escalated into a police response. I am giving this location one star because of the customer service and the way this situation was handled. I believe management should seriously review what happened, review any available surveillance footage, and address the conduct of the employees involved. I have a significant audience on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram, and part of what I do is share my experiences with businesses and customer service. I am posting the video so people can see the interaction for themselves and make their own judgment. I genuinely hope Cricket takes this complaint seriously. I have enjoyed Cricket’s wireless service for years, but customer service is a major part of a customer’s experience. If customers cannot walk into a store during posted business hours and receive respectful assistance, that is a serious problem. At this point, I am seriously considering leaving Cricket because of experiences like this. I am also considering taking this complaint further so that Cricket corporate can review what happened. This review is about my personal experience at this specific location and the customer service I received. I hope Cricket corporate investigates this situation and takes appropriate action.
