  After two other veterinary practices refused to see our large Alaskan Malamute because of his fear aggression and how difficult he could be to handle, Animal General welcomed him with compassion and understanding. Dr. Perrone and her incredible team consistently accommodated Koda’s needs throughout Koda’s treatment for thyroid disease and alopecia, which required ongoing care, medication, and frequent visits. Everyone in the office was endlessly patient, kind, and willing to answer my many questions and concerns. We always felt like they truly cared about both Koda and our family. We recently had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to Koda. From our very first appointment to our last, Dr. Perrone and her entire team treated him and my family with genuine compassion. Our family will always be grateful that they gave him the care he deserved when others wouldn’t. I cannot recommend Animal General highly enough.

  I recently took my cat to Animal General of East Norwich after a really stressful experience at another vet, where I was immediately told she needed surgery. They also took my cat into the back, and I sat there for six hours without seeing her once, which made the whole situation even more stressful. My cat is 15 years old and has never been away from me once, and this is her first medical incident in all the 15 years. I can only imagine how scared she was. That didn’t sit right with me, so I decided to get a second opinion… and I’m so glad I did. At Animal General, my cat was seen by Dr. Leonhardt, who was incredibly caring, kind, and compassionate from the moment we walked in. One of the biggest differences was that she examines and treats her patients right in front of you, which made me feel so much more comfortable and involved in my cat’s care. She quickly identified that my cat had bed sores and did not rush into anything extreme. Instead, she took the time to explain everything clearly, provided the proper medication, and showed me exactly how to care for them at home. My cat was visibly scared, but Dr. Leonhardt and her staff handled her with such caution and care while taking her out of the cage and throughout the entire process. They made sure she felt as safe and comfortable as possible, which meant everything to me as a pet owner. It’s very evident that Dr. Leonhardt has a lot of experience and truly cares about both her patients and their owners. I’ve grown up with cats, chickens, horses, and dogs, and have been to many different veterinarians over the years—and I can confidently say she is the best vet I’ve ever been to. The level of care, attention, and compassion she provides is unmatched. I felt completely comfortable and reassured under her care, which made such a difference during a stressful situation. I’m extremely grateful for her thoughtful approach and would highly recommend Animal General of East Norwich to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and compassionate veterinarian.

  The vets and vet techs are super nice and welcoming here, I wouldn’t recommend any other vet for your animal companion. They’re extremely professional and thorough with their care, more than any other vet I’ve been to. Thank you!
