Despite the kind, patient and relatively responsive nature of their technical team (that's the good bit), their training is so poor that its real world impact (financially or otherwise) makes it hard to believe that the prices we pay are used, presumably, to train them.
After over 10 phone calls to understand what's wrong with our wifi (full bars, but no connectivity), we were told all sorts of different things (namely that nothing is wrong, unplug it, plug it back in, etc.).
We requested a technician go to the house to sort it, to which they said they'd schedule it that day. There was an $85 fee that we agreed to, and possible additional monthly charge if they needed to replace equipment (to which I also agreed).
Well, instead they call to congratulate me with the good news that this was not necessary because they figured it out and now it's working. Sure enough, it wasn't. So what did they suggest? "Oh, now that we fixed it, you need to reset it by unplugging it and plugging it back in".
Well, you guessed it, nothing worked. I called to explain and they said they'd call me back. No call back. I called the on-call technician after hours who finally picked up and figured out that "Oh, well it looks like your auto-pay didn't pull and you need to update your credit card. We canceled your service".
Of course that part is my fault, since I do not pay attention to mail from DTC, since it's always the same (a bill that is automatically paid online), but you'd think if my bill was overdo and my service was about to expire that I'd get a phone call or email telling me this was happening. Surely, the two minutes it takes to ensure I pay them (and continue to pay them) is better served than spending hours on the phone providing bad information to a customer?
But I'm not surprised they didn't notify me, because it took over 10 phone calls for THEM to even realize that's what happened. Well, to continue enjoying my ticket to the circus, I was told that technicians can't actually restore my service, it needs to be their support team, who are out for the night. How convenient.
I asked "and tomorrow being July 3rd, you're going to tell me they aren't working tomorrow either, right?" To which he says "Of course they're working tomorrow, and they'll be in at 8am to get you turned back on".
Well imagine the joy on my face to call at 8am and hear an automated message that "support is off today in observance of Independence Day".
I'd love to observe independence from this company but, oh that's right, there are no local alternatives.
But there is Starlink and suffice to say, that's my next phone call....

My community of 10 houses in Davenport, NY has been asking every year when we will be provided with reliable home internet. We are told "next year," and even "we have no plans for you at this time." As taxpayers we all had really hoped for better service, or even any service from our local internet provider. Our neighbors half a mile a way have cable....

Jess Howes Building Supplies had a quick and effective install of a new DTC phone system. We had no downtime. Dan and his team are very knowledgeable and willing to meet our every need. Delhi Telephone offers great products and excellent customer service. They feel like a partner in our business.
