I’m not going to lie. I was reluctant to come here based on review ratings. I decided to read each and every review to see what’s up.
Our fur babies are our family…our children. We love them unconditionally and when they are sick and helpless, we feel sick and helpless. We are emotionally attached. As humans, when we love someone (somepet) and we feel helpless, we sometimes have a hard time accepting the truth of the matter. Many turn their emotions toward someone or something to blame. I feel that while there may have been human errors that have been made, I do truly believe that the faculty in this place is empathetic and caring. Now…here’s my experience….hope you’re still with me.
Making the appointment and stating why I was referred to their internist was easy, pleasant and caring. I never felt rushed all my concerns were addressed and with empathy.
Upon arrival (15 minutes early) I was checked in and seen by the vet tech (I think her name was Mariah?) less than 5 minutes later. She was very thorough with intake questions and so genuine and sweet with Bentley (my 7 year old Golden Retriever). Five minutes later Dr. Stephens, the internist, came in. I called my partner and put her on speaker phone. We both bombarded her with questions and “what if’s”. She graciously answered our questions….we could tell the knowledge that she had but she answered slowly, in Layman’s terms. She was patient and kind AND knowledgeable all in one.
She had ideas of things to test for. Are these tests expensive?? Hell yes!! But….so are ALL medical tests….for all living beings. Our Bentley is our family. Would you complain about prices for Great Aunt Edna’s medical care? Probably not…you know why? Because she has health insurance. And so do we. For Bentley. Just food for thought.
On that note, the communication between the check in, to the procedures, to the overnight care to the checkout was OUTSTANDING. Dr. Stephens actually just called me (just before she left for the weekend), while writing this review to let me know that the results for radiology hadn’t come in yet.
My point….
I would definitely trust this team to treat my boy again.

After an incredibly stressful and frustrating experience elsewhere, we brought our dog to Katonah Bedford Veterinary Center on a busy Sunday, and we could not be more grateful for the outstanding care we received.
Dr. Mary Grimes was absolutely fantastic. She evaluated our dog promptly, immediately recognized the severity of his infected paw wound, and started treatment with antibiotics and steroids right away. Her efficiency, professionalism, and calm demeanor gave us tremendous peace of mind.
The entire staff was equally wonderful. From the moment we walked in, everyone was friendly, compassionate, and genuinely caring. They even offered us refreshments while we waited, which was such a thoughtful gesture after what had been a very long and emotional night.
Most importantly, our dog was treated with urgency and kindness. We left feeling reassured that he was finally getting the care he needed.
If you are looking for a veterinary hospital with knowledgeable doctors and an exceptionally compassionate staff, I cannot recommend Katonah Bedford Veterinary Center highly enough. Thank you to Dr. Grimes and the entire team for taking such great care of Remi.

Dr Chou saved my dog's life when my dog needed emergency surgery. Two years later my dog is still here and doing great. Dr Chin / assistant Sam were great for our future oncology checkups. We will miss them now that they're in the CT location. Thank you teams for all you have done and continue to do.

bought sick puppy to the hospital and they took her quickly and then told me dog she was brain dead and will die--I thought it was a toxin as we were cleaning house. I took her out "AMA" and brought to another hospital. She was alert and she is home with me 90% all good the next day. Did not do tests to see other than blood that they couldn't get full result. The other hospital did X-ray ekg and bloodwork and working on a reason. A dr should not tell a client that their dog was "brain dead" unless there was no hope. Really upsetting experience. I paid the same for the care there as the other with a real workup. Also they are NOT open 24 hours I am glad because I could still have her there if they didn't tell me they were closing.

My pet passed away at home and the staff here was so incredibly kind. I brought my cat to be cremated around 5am and they asked me if I wanted a room to say goodbye or if I needed anything. They mailed a thoughtful card and my pets remains were returned very quickly. I am so thankful that at a very hard moment the staff here went above and beyond to try to ease the pain. It meant a lot.
