A really great place to bring a skittish dog! Our girl is a flight risk, never a bite risk. But she is very skittish, and growls defensively when approached by humans (especially women). It took her 5 days to allow me to touch her when we took her in. And this place worked so well with her. They were supportive, kind, and slow moving. They allowed us to move at her comfort, and that's what our girl needed for her first checkup. Thank you so much!!

Extremely happy they were there in an Emergency. I accidentally gave my baby too much insulin and they took him in immediately without hesitation The staff is amazing

We took our 15 year old fur baby here to address health issues she was experiencing. Even though many tests were done at her previous doctor's, no one had made us aware of the extent of her illness. We appreciated Dr. Z was able to look at test results, examine her thoroughly and be honest with us about her condition. It was not easy to make the decision to say goodbye to our pup. Having professionals we immediately trusted eased that difficult time. Dr. Z, her nurse and staff are professional, caring and compassionate people. I would highly recommend seeking pet care at this location.

I'm confused and upset. I told my friend to take her dog who is constipated to VCA Mountain Vista Animal Hospital and when she called 15 minutes ago was told by the receptionist that they cannot help her.
She called the VCA Nellis Animal Hospital and was told they can definitely help.
I'm confused. Is the receptionist at VCA Mountain Vista new? I've taken my girls to VCA Mountain Vista and they have been great but I'm disappointed that my friend who is in need of help was turned away.

Update: it’s been 3 weeks and cat does have a permanent wobble. The mass in his ear was so large the next vet saw it without a scope. Won’t come back. Not worth the misdiagnosis from the Doctor.
The staff is nice, but they misdiagnosed my cat and he may now have a permanent wobble. Took him in because he was acting weird and shaking his head and coughing up phlegm. They took his weight and they said don’t worry about his temperature, he was probably stressed and had a cold. A week of meds and he wasn’t better, he was now wobbling when he walked and kept falling over. I took him back when they opened, waited an hour, asked when he might be seen and they said 1pm at the earliest. I said I wanted to stay with them because they had looked at him before and gave me the meds, they said it just wasn’t possible.
I took him to another vet, they got me in in 10 min, the doctor took one look at him and said there was something wrong with his inner ear. They took him, cleaned it, and told me because the problem had compounded so much it may have caused permanent damage.
If VCA had done a proper checkup this probably wouldn’t have happened. Can’t in good conscience recommend this place for cats. Maybe they’re better with dogs.
