Even with an appointment, the waiting time at the Genius Bar is far too long. It makes having an appointment feel pointless. We organise our day around the appointment time because we have work and other responsibilities, yet it’s been over 30 minutes past my scheduled time and no one has even come over to help me. This level of service is very disappointing and needs to improve.

I arrived 5 minutes before my Genius Bar appointment at Apple Garden State Plaza, but even 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, I still had not received any service. What was more disappointing was that the staff acted as if being 5–10 minutes late was completely normal. For a company known as one of the best in the world, this was a very poor service experience. An appointment should mean something, and customers’ time should be respected. I was so frustrated by the attitude.(Apple staff should learn that times is valuable both for customers and staffs) This experience made me seriously reconsider using Apple products in the future. I may switch to Samsung instead.

The worst customer service experience ever at the Apple Store in Garden State Plaza. I had an appointment and still waited over an hour. After that, someone came over and told me to keep waiting because a technician would come. I waited another 20+ minutes, and when I politely asked how much longer I would have to wait, I was told something completely different — that I had supposedly already been informed that I would not be serviced that day. That was not true. The lack of communication, the wasted time, and the way I was treated were extremely disappointing and disrespectful. An appointment should mean something, and customers deserve honesty and better service.

BEWARE Potential Identity Theft!! I recently visited this Apple Store to trade in my old iPhone and purchase a new one. During the transaction, I specifically asked about removing my personal data from my old device. The Apple employee repeatedly assured me that I did not need to stay and erase the phone myself before leaving the store. Trusting that advice, I left with my new phone while my old phone—containing my personal information—remained at the store. The very next day, suspicious activity began appearing on my Bank of America account. Someone gained access to my online banking and started transferring money between my accounts. Shortly afterward, I received calls from individuals impersonating both Bank of America and the FBI, instructing me to go to a bank branch and withdraw funds as part of what was clearly an elaborate scam. What was especially alarming was that these individuals had extensive personal information about me and used it to make the calls appear legitimate. Fortunately, my husband and I immediately contacted Bank of America and local law enforcement, which helped prevent further damage. When we later contacted Apple to report what had happened, we were told that it is NOT Apple’s procedure to advise customers to leave before their personal data has been erased from a traded-in device. That contradiction is deeply concerning. To be clear, I am not accusing the store or any employee of being involved in this scam. However, the timing of these events, combined with the fact that I was advised to leave my device without personally confirming that my data had been erased, raises serious concerns about customer privacy and data security. I strongly encourage anyone trading in a device to personally verify that all personal data has been completely removed before leaving the store. I hope Apple reviews this incident carefully and reinforces proper procedures with its employees to better protect customers and their sensitive information.

‼️‼️⚠️ BEWARE OF POTENTIAL DATA THEFT ! My wife recently visited this Apple Store to trade in her old iPhone and purchase a new one. During the transaction, she asked about removing her personal data from the old device. According to her, the Apple employee repeatedly assured her that she did not need to stay and erase the phone herself before leaving the store. Trusting that advice, she left the store with her new phone while her old phone, containing her personal information, remained at the store. The following day, suspicious activity began appearing on her Bank of America account, someone logged in and started transferring money between her accounts, followed by calls from individuals impersonating both Bank of America and the FBI instructing her to walk in a branch and take money out, in an apparent scam attempt. These individuals had ALL her personal information , and used it to convince her the call was legit. We immediately contacted law enforcement and the bank to protect her accounts. When we later contacted Apple, we were told that it is not Apple’s procedure to advise customers to leave before their personal data is erased from a traded-in device. This contradiction is very concerning. I am not claiming the store or employee was involved in the scam. However, customers should be aware that they should personally verify that their device has been properly erased before leaving it behind. We were disappointed by the guidance we received and hope management reviews employee training regarding customer privacy and data security.
