No longer even try to use it. I spent thousands on the system. They were friendly and did a good job on the installation. I can't say the company isn't generally responsive to my complaints, because they are. It's just that the system is completely unreliable and I'm tired of asking for help. Yes, they are always responsive to but it never yields results and I have spent a substantial sum of money for a worthless system. I have to rate this company poorly based on the fact that they sold me an expensive but worthless system. I would give zero stars if that was an option.

No, if it is a normal fireplace then mounting above the mantle will cause no harm, just as many different decorations and pictures have always been placed on or above the mantle, this is a safe location where flat screens are commonly mounted.
I already own components. Can you incorporate these into a new home theater or listening system?
Yes. Audio Video Concepts & Design can design an audio or home theater system that incorporates your existing equipment – doing our best to maximize the synergy between the new and existing components.
Can I control all my gear with one universal remote?
Yes, a universal remote (one that learns the infrared codes of your other remotes) could be used to operate your entire system, however it still requires you to understand how your system works.

Yes. You will need to use an RF (radio frequency) remote control, instead of a remote that utilizes IR (Infrared) technology. IR remotes require the components you are controlling to be in the line of sight.
