Turns out you get those reward certificates on the 15 day after purchase and can only use those reward dollars against that purchase within 15 days of a credit card purchase. You don't have the new credit card nor a statement. Now I'm stuck with those reward dollars and have to pay the full credit card balance. There is no remedy through their customer service.
