Wow! 1 Star you guys are ridiculously expensive not a great vet unless you're born into generational wealth. 5 stars extremely hospitable, from the receptionist to the vet.

I arrived before the cutoff for late appointments, I was not allowed to be seen, or allowed to use my coupon the next day after forced rescheduling. The front desk staff also argued with me about my arrival time the previous day, despite the fact that I can literally verify what time I arrived through Life360 app records. If they wanted to stall and make me late to not have to see me and have a break, I shouldn't have to pay for it. The coupon clearly states free first visit for up to 2 animals and parasite prevention. If anything, a reschedule late fee would have made far more sense than completely voiding a promotional coupon that was supposedly valid for two pets/two visits. I brought my dog in for a wellness check due to sitter concerns after returning from a trip, and to see if there was an issue with his leg after licking for 2 days. They didn't even do a full exam; they briefly looked at his leg, took him back to "shave it and get a better look" which actually turned into $125 skin cytology. The nurse told me they MIGHT have to do this, but no one told me they were doing it, I didn't even know it was done until I left with paperwork. They did not ask if I had any other concerns about him, which I did. The vet only spoke to me for about 2 minutes total, once before taking him back, and once when returning him to the room; she hurriedly left once she realized he would definitely need a cone, as if that wasn't obvious considering I brought him in after him licking the area for 2 days, and she never came back. I didn't even get a chance to start telling her about my other concerns, but I would've expected to be asked. My dog also did not receive the parasite prevention stated on the coupon, which again was the only reason I chose VCA. As a healthcare provider of 8 years, I'm used to working in a setting where all patient concerns are at least acknowledged during a visit, even if the one issue becomes the primary focus, we always ask "are there any other concerns or anything you've noticed?," so the lack of broader assessment or discussion stood out to me. If this is what a well visit is like when something is potentially wrong, it makes me wonder what happens during a healthy well visit, and why it warrants a $90 charge. I also was not informed that I would not be allowed to use the coupon until after the visit was already completed. Had I known beforehand, I would have canceled the appointment and gone elsewhere without being seen by VCA. The entire experience was less than satisfactory, and I will be recommending to my fellow pet owners that VCA is not the place to go. I do not appreciate feeling misled regarding the promotion, as I mentioned at the office, the coupon was the ONLY reason I chose VCA over other veterinary clinics. What is most disappointing is that this was my first experience with VCA, and instead of feeling like my concerns as a pet owner mattered, I left feeling rushed through the appointment and misled about the promotion that brought me there in the first place. I have already made a report to the Missouri Attorney General's consumer protection division and will also be making a report with the Better Business Bureau, and will continue to leave reviews where applicable. The lack of communication and transparency is concerning.

My dog had been sick for months. I had taken him to three different vets to find what the problem was. I took him to VCA where we saw a vet that is not even an actual vet there, she was a fill in and they ran tests on him and charged me $350 to tell me it was due to stress. They sent me home with stomach meds and told me to feed him chicken and rice. My dogs problems got worse. I called VCA and told them and they recommended I go to a specialist, which would cost about $300 just to walk in the door. So I drove to our old vet in Tulsa, OK(which is a VCA animal hospital as well and I love them and know their workers by name) where they told me they think he's allergic to chicken. After two days of giving him a new non chicken diet, all of his symptoms were gone! Now I have a happy puppy no thanks to these idiots running this office in Bal-Coeur! A month later, I contact their office again to order my dogs heart worm medicine for the home delivery program that they offer. The lady in the office had no idea what I was talking about! I had to tell her what the company she works for offered! Ridiculous! She still didn't understand! I had to have my vet in Tulsa contact the VCA in Bal-Coeur and tell her what the home delivery program was! They contacted me and told me they needed to see my other dog before they could send me the heart worm meds but told me I would get her first appointment free since they had never seen her before. So I made an appointment. The morning of the appointment it was bad weather and some of the roads had flooded so I called the office and tried to cancel the appointment that day but no one answered. I called back a few days later to reschedule the appointment to which they informed me that I would no longer be able to have her first appointment free of charge because I didn't call and cancel the first appointment. These people don't know what they're doing! All they care about is how much money you're giving them! My sweet babies will never set foot back in that facility! If you're looking for a good vet that will care for your pet and not cheat you out of your money, I highly recommend looking elsewhere because this is not the place!
