I took my 12 year old Doberman here, to help him cross over. And I can’t say enough about my experience here. From the phone call, to make the appointment to picking up my beloved dogs ashes. Tia at the front desk, thank you for your kind words walking me through everything that needed to be done. Thank you, Annie for being gentle with my boy. Thank you Dr. Costin for explaining everything in a way that didnt feel clinical which help me a lot. But most of all you made me feel safe enough to express all of the emotions I was experiencing. THANK YOU!

I would never recommend taking your pet here!! I brought our kitten who was taken from a barn (vs being left to be a feral cat with no care) and the tech and vet were beyond weird with him. Telling me EVERY SINGLE outside cat had worms and FIV+ and demanding hundreds of dollars for treatment meanwhile letting my kitten put his paws all over her face??? If you think he has “worm belly” why are you letting him put his paws on your mouth?? Why are you telling me everyone in my. Family had worms if you’re willing to let my cat (who you claim has worms) put his paws all over your face??? The tech continuously ranted about how our kitten was gross and had every virus/worm/infection known to man while letting him lick her and put his paws all over her face. She also made multiple weird jokes about stealing my kitten and giving me a severely sick kitten that was only sick because of one if the employees neglect and diseases due to her refusal to provide flea and tick treatment. Ironic that they pushed the highest price “care club” plan on us and tried to enforce the importance of flea and tick treatment even if my cats were indoor only. They didn’t offer any other care club plans unlike the Knapp location which was extremely transparent about the pricing. This location demanded the highest pricing and if I didn’t visit the Knapp location previously. I wouldn’t have known about the other pricing options. 0/10. DO NOT BRING YOUR CATS HERE!!!

They are not very pet oriented. Told them my dog would do anything for a treat and doesn't like to be picked up. The first thing they did was try to pick him up and then flag him as anxious and tell me he needs to be medicated for his next appointment. At his next appointment I medicated him like they asked me to and the tech told me he did great only to document that he was anxious and aggressive (my dog has never had this behavior prior). They also marked that they were unable to complete various exams that I was in the room for and watched the vet complete. Finally, They had told me they were going to do a heartworm test, returned him to me and told me I was all set and gave me my first dose of his heartworm medication, the next month when I requested more they told me they could not give me any unless he did the heartworm test. I explained I was told this was done and he had already taken a dose, they then informed me that I refused the test at some point... which I did not do. LOTS of miscommunication and what seems to be not enough experience handing animals for a vets office.
Safe Harbor has merged with VCA. This was our first visit there. Office is clean and comfortable. Ladies at the front desk were courteous and pleasant. We were in for blood work and were in and out in only a few minutes.
The entire staff knows and loves my dog, Peaches. Even for boarding she is excited to be there. Often she doesn't even look back when they lead her away. These are wonderful people and I wouldn't go anywhere else!
