I brought my dog in and he received a free vet visit along with his first dose of flea, tick and heart worm medication. I was then instructed to give this to him monthly as a preventative. My dog was 7lbs at the time of the visit just a little over a month ago. He’s now 9lbs because I weigh him. The medication for small dogs is 5-11lbs. When I called to get a Rx for him, they told me I’d have to make another appointment because of the weight restrictions on the medication yet he hasn’t exceeded it. No one was willing to help and I’m assuming they just want to make money here.

So, on July 28th I called VCA and asked if I could bring in my fur-baby because she was experiencing diarrhea that was bloody and full of mucus. First, I was kept on hold for an extended period of time by the person who answered the phone, who eventually informed me that they could not see Nova, but that I could bring in a stool sample and she could be seen on Saturday pending the results of the sample. The next day came and I waited and no-one called me and gave me the results of the specimen. I called them. This person was very nonchalant about giving me the results, I waited until a doctor could tell me that the results were negative, and that other test needed to be done to see what was the cause? But, they could not see her until Monday afternoon. I made the appointment, and proceeded to seek out an urgent care. The person on the phone told me " I hope that Nova will be okay." I found an urgent care who did diagnose my fur-baby, they put her on flagyl, probiotics, and special food. Nova is doing great. I was embarrassed to even tell the other vet what was said to me by Nova's vet...... The one that has been seeing her since birth. I forgot to call and cancel her appointment with VCA. However, no one even bothered to call and remind me or to even ask about how she was even doing! I had no problem bring her to this clinic until now. I don't even know if I believe if the sample was even sent out based on the findings at the other clinical. The ladies that were there when I dropped off the stool sample seemed just as unconcerned as the person that I spoke with on Saturday. Having been oil health care for more than 35 years..... I do know a little something about bedside care and concern...... And with this experience unfortunately, it was lacking. The vets that I have seen in the past have been amazing...... from office visits to her spayed surgery. I'm not sure what's going on? But this experience was definitely different.

Unfortunately I had to move to a vet closer to my home, but for anyone in the area I cannot recommend this place enough. They were great with my two dogs (one of whom has awful vet anxiety) They were always easier to book with, get medications refilled, and the staff was absolutely amazing. Sad to have left, but glad to have had 6 years going here
