Top notch. Called at 9. PM with an emergency injury to my puppy. They took my info and after a quick chat said come on in. Got there and since they already had my info triage was quick and I had a couple hours wait ahead of me. To be expected. Got to my turn and the dad took excellent care of my puppy. Explained what he found and treatment options. We got some pain and relax meds to help my puppy out. Exam fee for a follow up with X-ray or other lab would be waived if we were to return. Went home with the tired and sore pup who took his meds without a problem and went to sleep. It’s been a week and puppy is doing great. I will definitely return the next time I have a vet emergency off hours.

I brought my new senior rescue (dog) in for urology diagnostics and a consult. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and professional.
It’s a clean and updated environment. My wait time was maybe 15 min after check-in.
The veterinarian was great. I never felt rushed, and I feel like I was listened to and that my dog received good care.

I have two dogs Lady and Luna. Luna will be two in September but has frequented the hospital with need of care a lot. So I have spent an enormous amount of money to VCA Weymouth. Luna is apart of their care club and that is a monthly expense. She had two ccl surgeries and most recently a double ear infection. My youngest son needed to go to the hospital so I had my older son bring Luna to the VCA in Weymouth. As I described before, I have spent a lot of time at this hospital as a result of Luna’s care. I grew accustomed to being able to receive a pay link to satisfy cost accrued from service. I instructed my older son to have them send me a pay link. I would think my train of thought would give clear indication of my intentions to pay. I was in transition with my son at the doctors office. So my calls me in a panic because he needed to leave having other obligations. The receptionist at the check out desk( she is middle aged 50’s, brunette hair and glasses) told my son he could not leave until she checked the payment cleared. I calmed my son down and told him to leave. I had to help him realize that she interpreted his skin color as someone that is untrustworthy. This individual does not know how to engage with another person outside her ethnic group. She automatically treated you as someone that needed to be watched and verified before you could leave the hospital. It did not matter that our account has always been in good standing. We had bills totaling in the thousands and this bill was $300. Yet, in the past I have left the hospital having not processed the pay link until I got home. Naturally, I called the hospital and expressed my concerns. I asked to speak with the individual and was denied. I requested a call back to explain her behavior toward my son. That was Thursday and I have not heard back from anyone. So today, Saturday I decided to express my concerns on a public platform. I have several upcoming appointments scheduled for both of my dogs. I am in the process of looking for care elsewhere. I will not be ignored and proceed to spend thousands of dollars at an establishment that refuses to hold their administration accountable for their inability and lack of competence to show basic human decency!

I needed emergency services for my dog who had a debilitating reaction to the lepto vaccine. The entire staff from intake, to the technicians, to Dr Lopes were thorough, professional, and compassionate. Yes I paid a lot of money and yes I waited a long time. It was worth every penny and every minute.

I trusted VCA Weymouth during one of the worst experiences of my life when my cat Ozzy became critically ill. I spent over $11,000 on the recommended hospitalization and surgery trying to save him. He ultimately passed away in their care early in February.
When I went to pick up his ashes and carrier several days after his death, I learned that the hospital lost his collar (a pastel blue and pink beaded necklace) that he wore daily. It was one of the only sentimental items I had left of him. People are human. Mistakes happen. What has stayed with me is how a massive corporate veterinary network handled the situation afterward.
VCA is owned by Mars, the multibillion-dollar corporation that acquired the chain for roughly $9 billion. Despite months of follow-up about the loss of my cat’s belongings and the emotional distress surrounding it, the response ultimately felt less like compassionate care and more like a corporation calculating the minimum possible goodwill expense.
After months of repeated outreach and escalation, I was eventually offered a reimbursement of $26.56 for “fur clipping.”
That amount speaks for itself.
What hurts most is that I had to stop a kitchen renovation (during demolition phase) in order to pay for Ozzy’s emergency care because, at the time, I trusted this hospital and believed I was doing everything possible to save him. In the end, I am left with no functional kitchen, no Ozzy, and not even his favorite beaded necklace he arrived at the hospital wearing.
This was never about the monetary value of a collar. It was about grief, accountability, and how families are treated after traumatic medical emergencies involving beloved pets. Instead, I was left feeling like my loss had been processed through a customer retention spreadsheet.
Before this experience, I trusted VCA Weymouth enough that I routinely drove about an hour there for emergency care for my cats despite having several closer emergency hospitals available to me. I believed the level of care and trust justified the cost and distance. I no longer feel that way, and after this experience, I can no longer recommend them to other pet owners.
