I went to Best Buy during the Massachusetts sales tax holiday and purchased a Bose bass module and surround speakers. Unfortunately, when I got home, I found out that the products were not compatible with my Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar.
I went back to the Mansfield Best Buy the very next day to return them and purchase the correct compatible products. I checked online and saw that the South Bay Best Buy had the items I needed in stock. I asked the employee at the Mansfield return desk if he could help me place an order for pickup at South Bay, but he told me he couldn’t because the South Bay location was too far from Mansfield.
I was willing to drive to South Bay myself to pick up the products. I wasn’t asking Mansfield to transfer the items—I simply wanted to place an order for pickup at another Best Buy location.
I ended up going to the South Bay Best Buy myself. The employee there was much more helpful and told me that because my original purchase was made during the Massachusetts sales tax holiday, I should call Best Buy Customer Service and ask if they could give me a credit for the sales tax since I had to return the incompatible products and repurchase the correct ones.
I’m disappointed with the customer service I received at the Mansfield location. I came back the very next day and was simply trying to exchange the products for the correct ones that were available at another Best Buy. I feel the Mansfield employee could have been more helpful and provided me with better options instead of just telling me that South Bay was too far away.
I previously reviewed this Best Buy because of my extremely negative experience with employee Jesse A. I felt he was dishonest and misleading when discussing the Best Buy credit card, and I later had concerns about similar representations made to my father during his purchase.
I was shocked to recently learn that Jesse Ake was arrested by Rhode Island State Police and charged with numerous firearms-related offenses. Police reported recovering a ghost gun, dozens of lower receivers, large-capacity magazines, 3D printers, computers, and other equipment.
What is especially concerning to me is evidence that purchases connected to this equipment were made through Best Buy while he was employed by the company. I sincerely hope Best Buy investigates whether employee purchasing benefits, discounts, accounts, or company resources were involved.
After my original poor experience, I actually started going to the Attleboro Best Buy instead, only to encounter Jesse working there as well. Knowing what I know now makes my previous interactions with him much more disturbing.
Best Buy employees routinely handle customers’ names, addresses, credit applications, Social Security numbers, financing information, expensive purchases, and home-delivery information. Customers deserve to know that employees in those positions are being appropriately vetted and that complaints about employee conduct are taken seriously.
Jesse has been arrested and charged, not convicted, and his case is still proceeding through the courts. Nevertheless, I believe Best Buy needs to thoroughly investigate his employment history, customer complaints, and any purchases or employee benefits connected to this situation.
Staff person, Kevin, helped us save money and was very knowledgeable about products, price matching, comparable items. Nice to feel not ripped off.

Just bought a new tv last week at the store. Got a floor model which was technically an open box deal. When my wife called earlier in the day we were told itd only be the tv (no remote, no mount, no wires) I asked the manager who was on that night (I believe he said his name was greg or craig) if that was correct. The manager as well as the geek squad associate chris went out of their way to locate all the extra parts for the tv and make sure I was able to set up that night. You guys were beyond awesome and I will definetly be going to this best buy anytime I am making another big purchase

I’m not completely sure how to spell or pronounce the employee’s name, but I believe it was Breanna, Briana, or something similar. She was a younger employee whose name started with a B.
I’ve been coming to this Best Buy location for years since I live in the area, and in the past I’ve usually had good experiences. There are certain employees here who have always been helpful, respectful, and easy to work with. Over time, I’ve learned who to go to when I have questions and who I’d rather avoid. There are still some good people at this store, and I do appreciate the employees who genuinely try to help customers.
That said, over the past year or two, I feel like this location has gone downhill in terms of customer service and overall shopping experience. Yesterday’s visit was the first time I left feeling genuinely uncomfortable and unsure if I ever want to come back.
I came in to purchase a product, and the employee I worked with was extremely pushy about the Best Buy credit card and store membership. I understand that employees are expected to mention these programs. I have worked in retail and sales before, so I understand that part of the job. However, there is a big difference between informing a customer and repeatedly pressuring them after they already said no.
I respectfully declined multiple times, but the employee kept pushing. It became very uncomfortable. While I was there, I also heard another employee doing something similar with another customer, which made it feel like this is not just a one-time issue.
The store already has credit card advertising everywhere: signs, flyers, papers, booklets, and constant reminders about signing up. It feels like the main focus is no longer helping customers, but pushing credit cards and memberships. Best Buy may call these “benefits,” but from a customer’s perspective, it feels more like pressure than service.
On my way out, I spoke with a manager, a woman with glasses whose name I unfortunately forgot. She was respectful and told me she would speak with the employee and that this type of behavior is not what they want customers to experience. I appreciated her response in the moment.
However, after looking at other reviews, it seems like this is a common issue not only at this location, but with Best Buy in general. This is my first Google review. I usually only use Google for directions, but this experience bothered me enough that I felt I should say something.
As of June 27, 2026, the Best Buy in Mansfield has lost a longtime customer due to aggressive sales pressure and a very uncomfortable shopping experience. I’m now seriously considering shopping elsewhere, whether that means Amazon, Walmart, or another retailer.
I hope this review helps other customers know what to expect before spending their money here.
