  I've been going to this vet since we moved to the area 14 years ago. The care was always consistently outstanding. Recently, that all changed and the well-being of the pets in their care seem secondary to the volume of visits and appointments. The last straw for me was dropping my cat off for sedated X-rays at 9AM in the morning and being told he should be ready for pick-up by 2PM. When I finally called them at 3:30PM that afternoon, worried, to inquire if everything was OK I was told that a "staff meeting" was held that afternoon and that there was no longer time left in the day for X-rays... Could I reschedule? My cat gets very anxious at the vet and, at his advanced age, it takes a toll on him. That they kept him for the entire day, never called me, never provided updates and it wasn't until I called them that there was any movement on this issue is irredeemable. I do not enjoy leaving poor reviews. I've debated writing this one. But I feel the need to let other pet-owners know that this isn't the same clinic it was years before. I've found another vet in the area that treats my cat with the care and attention to his well-being that all pets deserve.

  I want to start by saying that I’ve been going here for years and today I was taking my dog Duchess in for her appointment, get checked in and waiting to be called. After about 25 minutes after my appointment was supposed to to be I had to leave to get ready for work. No communication from the front desk on why they are running late or behind, not a single word and I am the only one in the lobby waiting for the entire time. The actually vet techs and veterinarians are great. The receptionist is terrible and only cared about going suit shopping later.

  Amazing doctors and the ladies at the front desk are so passionate and so amazing when I Chiquita in for her first physical the amount of respect and love they gave her is amazing I recommend this place and the insurance is so cheap

  I'd like to express our deepest gratitude to VCA Shaker rd. animal hospital for their compassion and care of not only our beloved cat, but the comfort they gave us also. We had to make a difficult decision and Mischa Leavey, DVM, and Stephanie gave our Samhain the gift of passing with dignity, with us by his side. Thank you both for allowing us time with him (not rushing) and for the sweet paw prints created. We are forever grateful for your kindness.
