  Took my laptop here with issues. They cannot make decisions on the spot, despite being a Best Buy total protection member. Other locations have understood the need of urgency for my replacement and have handled it on site, they treated me as if I was lying about that and told me I needed to pay the $99 and have it sent off and claimed it was always like this. Perhaps I had another store manager at a different location I dealt with that did an override or something. Idk, but my previous repair I had on a 20 month old device they did not charge me $99 and they junked and replaced it on the spot. So naturally I would expect a speedy resolution. Fast forward to today. They sent my laptop out, had their “repair center” fix it, they received it and it’s still broke. Now I have to wait AGAIN while it is sent back. What kind of quality do they have in their repair center to send back an unrepaired, unusable laptop and claim it is fixed? It brings their ability to perform adequate repairs into question! When continuously asking to escalate this, they would only give me a number to contact corporate. When I was able to get in touch with someone from that number (a 30+ minute wait hold on the phone) the associate I spoke with told me this was not corporate but he could only create a ticket to escalate to corporate and proceeded to tell me it will be a few days before I receive any answer about my issue. At this point I am completely disappointed with their service and lack of empathy and most all feel like paying the generous sum to be a Best Buy total member is an absolute rip off. Once this ordeal is finished I will do myself a favor and discontinue my dealings with Best Buy and make the longer drive to Micro Center. They’ve always taken care of me right there, in store, on the spot.

  Unfortunate experience. I dropped and broke my phone. Missing messages often now and my messages are not transmitting. I was worried about going by myself to the geek squad appointment because I feel like women aren’t always treated well by tech guys. I felt rushed out and dismissed. I didn’t feel that there was time spent trying to look into the nature and cause of my malfunctioning phone beyond basic diagnostics. I pay for the monthly apple care plan so that I wouldn’t have to worry if my phone is damaged, and it could be replaced. Left with my phone still broken and am required to have a properly functioning phone for my job. Will have to drive 45 minutes to an Apple Store. I’m sure the tech specialist is a good person and maybe it had just been a busy day, but it made me really sad.

  What a joke. How long does it take to change an iPhone battery. I had an appointment at 2:40 today. I brought the phone in at about 2.35. He says " it will be about 3 hours ". I asked - 3 hours to change a battery??. He said " that's about what it takes". I call BS. I've had batteries changed and and it takes an hour. So basically he was saying that my 2:40 appointment meant nothing. They were behind and I was to pay the penalty. And at $99 to change a battery, they must then be making less than $20 / hour labor once you factor out the battery. Sorry - I had not planned on, nor could I have hovered in the area. So suggestion, be sure to ask how long it will take to complete the job first. Also - you might consider going to Techy at Walmart instead. That's where I will be.

  You have to pay a fee to have the service plan. The over the phone people can never assist you. Then you have to pay extra to have a service technician come out to your house. I wish I knew if another option.
