- RMRobert MadisonMay 3, 20261.0I’ve been shopping at Best Buy since I was a kid, but it seems that’s over. They no longer stand behind their products and take no accountability for what they sell. I bought a smart TV through the Best Buy store on Amazon and picked it up locally at this location. It turns out it was defective, breaking after only a few days of use, and because I bought it from Best Buy through Amazon they said it was not their problem. Amazon said the same. The dubious silver lining is they let me recycle it for free instead of charging me another $30. I talked with Chris but there was no attempt to make it right. I asked if there was a discount or coupon I could get to replace it and they were not interested. Even a token effort would have been appreciated. They believed Best Buy had no involvement in the sale whatsoever, contrary to what it says on the Amazon app. It’s legitimately sad to see, but Best Buy is destined to go the way of Circuit City. I always preferred brick and mortar stores because of the human element of it all. I’ll never walk through those doors again for electronics, accessories, components, or anything else. I guess I’m better off ordering the cheapest products if it’s going to be a gamble anyway.
