Im heart broken that my baby girl Pepper had passed unexpectedly not knowingly that she had risks of congested heart failure. When I brought my 12 yr old dog in this past summer for a check-up and to see if she was still able to have dental cleaning based on her age and health, Dr. Pagor mentioned that she has a grade 4 heart murmur, but since she didn't have symptoms she assured me that she will be fine. Pepper survived the dental cleaning but the technician did tell me that it took a while for her to wake up for the anesthesia. 6 months after I come home with pepper having difficulty breathing. I rush pepper into the ER, and later that night I was told that she would not make it and had to put her down. Me and my family are deeply saddened we lost a family member, and also ferrous that we trusted Dr. Pagor with our pet. I really dont want to put the blame on any one but Dr. Pagor did fail to give us the risks or warnings on what a heart murmur entails. Also maybe if Pepper could have been put on heart meds as a preventive, she would have had a longer life span. Also after recently requesting her blood work (which i was told was fine) Noticed that her bun/creatin was over the normal range and she failed to tell me that. Not only are we still paying off peppers dental bill but we now having over $3k bill from the ER vet for a dog we lost.
I really hope my story will change the practice on how important it is to educate and warn clients about heart murmur's .

I’ve been bringing my two yorkies here since they were babies and they are 12 and 11. Today our other yorkie had his dental procedure and I couldn’t be happier with the care and expertise they receive during their visits. I trust them to provide the quality care to my babies. If you are having any reservations about getting their dental procedures because they go under anesthesia, don’t. They are in great hands. Thank you Franklin Park VCA.
