My cat Georgie had his first appointment with this vet today, and to say I am impressed would be an understatement! Dr Mueller has to be one of the best vets I have ever interacted with. He was so sweet to my Georgie, and so reassuring to me (despite my intense health anxiety around my cat). I immediately felt like I could trust him, which has not been the case with other practices I’ve visited in the past. He is definitely in the right line of work! The vet techs were equally as sweet and knowledgeable. They were very reassuring to my cat and I - I even saw him slow blinking at the tech that was restraining him a few times! Some reviews note that this place can be pricy, but honestly, I felt like pricing was very transparent and on par with what veterinary care costs these days. I think I have finally found my forever vet in Chicago!

Love VCA Cat Hospital of Chicago. Dr. Thompson is extremely caring and is always looking into new research for our cat Blue. The clinic is always great with sharing documentation with his speciality providers and we feel like the clinic has definitely helped with Blue’s longevity and quality of life. We appreciate everything they do.

We came here from WI to get our cat treated with I131 therapy, as the only place currently doing I131 in state gave us way higher of a cost estimate than VCA had. We would've spent twice as much going to a local vet than we spent here, even if I include gas money & our costs doing testing with our vet. I cannot praise this place enough. Everyone there was very kind and very thorough about educating us on the procedure & quarantine period. The vet we met with, Dr. Foose, was wonderful & very nice! Clearly loves cats & cares about giving them proper care, was able to answer any questions or concerns we had as well. Our kitty had a lower dosage and only stayed overnight because we wouldn't have been able to do pickup that evening due to the long drive & our sleep schedules, much appreciated them keeping him overnight to accommodate! I will say the only issue we had was the cat cams for his stay. Since he was just there overnight it wasn't a big deal, we got a link to a camera that didn't have any feed outside of some pictures of a cat from a week prior? So I'm unsure if we were provided an incorrect link or if their cameras were having issues. I woke up & checked the cameras after they were closed, so I did not follow up to get proper access, but just a heads up, if you go for I131 & you would like access to see your cat I would try to check during their operating hours that the feed is working for you! I was happy to at least see the area he was likely staying in & it looked spacious & comfortable. Overall a wonderful experience & would recommend going here if your cat has a hyperthyroid!
