    We have purchased a Sony TV on March 26th, 2026 at the store in Champaign IL. Due to a medical emergency, we could not test the TV within 15 days allotted for returning the TV to the store in case of malfunctioning or any other reasons. When we finally turned the TV on, we have discovered that there were two problems with it: 1. The person who had sold us this TV was not qualified to be selling this particular TV. We inquired several times if this particular TV model has the Picture in Picture capability. The sales person affirmed that it does. Upon turning the TV on, we had found out that this model does not have the Picture in Picture feature. 2. The WiFi module in the TV stopped working after 2 hours of operation. Since we only use streaming services, the failed WIFI module rendered this TV absolutely useless to us. I had gone back to the store and spoke with the manager. I had explained to the manager the medical emergency situation and asked for the replacement of the TV even though it is outside the 15 day window. The manager had told me that I should pay an additional $150 to replace the TV. Considering that the TV was $2,900 in the first place I thought this was mistreatment of me as a customer. I have contacted BestBuy corporate office seeking help in exchanging the TV without an additional $150. Unfortunately, the corporate office had told me that they cannot help either. I strongly believe that BestBuy is a failed company and would not recommend to buy any products from it.

    The store feels massively rundown. Upper management is rude to employees in front of customers and interupts conversations with customers leading to an unpleasant customer experience and is embarrassing on coporate for letting this store be run this way. Clearly not a Champaign local and should not have been considered for this position as she doesn't understand her market. Edit: customers can hear the employee radios, this seems like a security concern for Best Buy's propriety information and is an unprofessional for a previously prestigous brand. Also using auto-response to reviews is lazy and reflects on your company poorly, atleast include a direct line to coporate if you're going to do that.

    I went to the store to buy an xbox live card. Apparently they no longer sell those. That's fine, they still have them on the website so I ordered the code in the parking lot before driving home. I do not live close to Best Buy, and have now been home for a while, and have not even received a confirmation email. The money, however, has been taken out of my bank already. This should have been a transaction that took seconds, and yet more than half an hour later I am still waiting for an email, and to receive the code I already paid for. This is unacceptable, and if I do not get the email soon I will have to cancel the purchase and find somewhere else to buy this. This was the one reason to still go to Best Buy- I guess that's changed.
