My little Oreo was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma after his spleen ruptured back in May. When my vet called to tell me the news, my heart shattered. I couldn’t stand the thought of losing him. They recommended VCA’s oncology department, but let me know that the outlook wasn’t good. After seeing Dr. Able, she recommended chemo along with some other medications. She gave me hope. The techs were all so incredible with Oreo (he can be snippy) and would tell me about how they would hold him during his treatments and how he was fall asleep for them. For such an awful experience, the VCA oncology team made it a much brighter one. Oreo had his last chemo treatment a couple days ago and I cried tears of joy on the ride home. I cannot express the gratitude I have. Thank you guys so much for all you’ve done. Nothing makes me happier than being able to come home and hug Oreo each day.

Their compassion is unmatched. Although it was extremely distressing having to leave my Bowie overnight in the ER, the way the technicians and doctors interacted with him before we left eased my mind and assured me that he would be receiving the best care. I appreciated that they were so attentive to Bowie and his comfort during his hospitalization and the kindness they had when giving us updates. Thanks to the efforts of all the staff, we have our little guy feeling much better.

After a month of on and off vomiting, a multiple visits to his regular vet, VEG, x-rays, anti-nausea injections, fluids and a 10 pound weight loss we were referred to the internal specialists at VCA aurora. After several diagnostics, they found the culprit; a squeaky toy lodged in his intestines. They took him to surgery right away and was able to successfully remove it. I can't thank the surgeon, doctors, technicians, and staff enough for taking such good care of my Goose. Whenever they would call to update me, I could hear the love and compassion in their voices. Getting the call that he needed surgery definitely sent me into tears and the doctor was so kind and re-assuring as I had felt like I failed my poor baby. Goose is now almost one week post-op and we have our boy back. He can finally eat his regular food again without vomiting and has his energy back (which we have to control for another week, but we'll take it as long as he's healthy). All I wanted was answers as to why he wasn't getting better and they were able to give that to us within a few hours. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Left a bad review of another VCA, decided I should at least leave a good review of the one that convinced me to try the other one when I moved I had a wonderful senior cat that I loved with my entire heart who got a very sudden and very aggressive cancer. In a lot of ways, it was a miracle she got that cancer as she'd been struggling with kidney issues since kittenhood and when she got sick, we were certain it was that. The staff was very kind with me when we came into the hospital in the middle of the night and I burst into tears so hard I couldn't speak. The receptionist gave me tissues and let me cry while my companion explained out check in. The vet that saw her was incredibly kind and gentle with us as they talked us through our options. We tried at home hospice even though it was against recommendation because in their opinion, it was a very fast acting and aggressive cancer and she likely didn't have long even with home care We ended up coming back a short 4 days later. There was no judgment for us giving up so quickly, only compassion and kindness as they did everything they could to help our little family (me, my sister, my nephew, and my sister's best friend) say goodbye to our precious family member. The vet even cried with us as our sweet girl passed away. The overwhelming kindness and accommodation for such a stressful and painful event is a kindness I will never forget. I only wish the other hospitals in this network were as capable

We found a lump on our cat’s neck. After a needle biopsy from our vet, Burr Ridge Vet Clinic, they confirmed it was cancer, and refereed us to several hospitals, and we chose VCA Aurora. We called the hospital and got into see Dr. Sowders, within days. She is great, very personable, knowledgable. They completed X-rays, ultrasounds, blood work and a physical examine. They confirmed the diagnosis and based on the findings thought the mass was contained and could be removed. She directed us to Dr. Peacock, terrific doctor! We were able to get in yesterday for the removal. We were there at 9:00am and brought Delany home the same day. Dr. Peacock is very personable, knowledgable and he immediately gained our confidence and comfort with his proposed procedure. She got through the procedure great and is now recovering at home. Everyone at the VCA Aurora hospital was great! All compassionate, caring, knowledgable! Recovery is about two weeks, but we except everything to continue, with Delany getting stronger everyday. Thank you VCA Aurora for taking care of our Delany.
