  Horrible. Came in and wasn’t treated as an emergency sure was charged as one. Pricing here is disgusting. Waited 4 hours for vet to confirm what I had communicated. The vet who “treated” my dog seemed unconfident, lost, and confused. Discharged me with no instructions or guidance. I really don’t understand how this person is employed here. Lacked communication skills and knowledge. We stopped going here after an experience with a different vet who was rude and showed no interest in my dog. Promised I would never step foot here again but an emergency and proximity made me come back. Waited in a room for an hour to receive next steps no one ever came. The front desk ignored me when I tried to ask for assistance. Ended up leaving and tried to call them after an hour was placed on hold. No one knew what was going on. Staff was unprofessional, no compassion for a worrying dog owner, and lacked expertise. You’re better off anywhere else but here.

  Twinkie - My Baby Girl Her Passing I am writing this in all honesty at first I was hesitant to bring my deceased baby girl here it wasn’t about obviously her care technically she would receive at this point obviously but still you have to respect your animal and care for it to you it’s still important that it be treated with the upmost respect that’s why when we cremate our Pets we choose to do them separately at least I do I don’t want her ashes mixed with anyone else it’s out of respect for her life now do we really know that it’s done privately we are just trusting the process that it is Needless to say when I brought her here I was hesitant but I had no choice and I am so glad I did the care I received was absolutely amazing I can’t thank the one girl who stayed by my side every step of the way she was like an angel guiding me through the entire thing It was incredibly difficult painful one of the hardest things I’ve ever endured saying goodbye to my baby she was the love of my life she was my world it hurts me so much It’s only been a month since her passing and I’m so heart broken I still out of nowhere just sob I hold back then all of sudden I just let it out and sob her death broke my heart into a million pieces sometime it hurts so bad I can’t breath everything gets all tight and stressed and I feel like I’m choking it’s all because my heart is hurting so badly for my Twinkie She gave me time I needed to say my last goodbye my last hugs my last kisses my final look at her and my final words to her As I passed her off I know I was passing her off to not just someone who was a worker here it was a friend it was someone who cared about what I was going thru it was a true kind loving human being that I trust and for that I will be forever thankful and blessed and so will Twinks

  My dog passed away from possible stomach cancer. I understand testing is needed to figure things out but I would have appreciated them giving me a possible diagnosis and possible prognosis once she had an ultrasound rather than keep pushing for more testing. I had my dogs test results that were taken there sent to another location and they told me she most likely had a very aggressive form of stomach cancer and that even with treatment prognosis is not good. They never mentioned this even when I asked for a possible diagnosis and prognosis. My dog had a STROKE and was UNABLE to urinate or walk and they were STILL pushing for an MRI and further testing. Luckily I am in the medical field so I understood it was time to let her good and I was able to advocate for my dog to be euthanized rather than suffering further. As she was unable to walk, eat, or urinate by this point. When I picked her up to euthanize at home she had labored breathing and a muzzle as they said she tried to bite them and we should be careful. They did not mention her breathing was so labored and NEVER had my dog tried to bite ANYONE even when scared or nervous. At home she was at peace and did not try to bite even while surrounded by people or when the vet who came to euthanize her. I cannot help but think that my dog was mistreated and scared and alone her last few days there. It all left a bad taste in my mouth and I felt in the end that they just wanted money, as I had mentioned I would do whatever testing was necessary, rather than have my dogs best interest in mind. All in all maybe a good place but not for emergencies with your pets.

  Not recommended at all, in fact stay away. This place is a money grab that preys on people in panic about their beloved pets. They always, and intentionally offer “options” rather than recommend what is the best treatment. Usually those options include very expensive and unnecessary procedures. My dog ate some small fossils my son had in his bedroom and we were concerned the sharp edges could cause issues. The “options” were to feed him wet dog food or to get an expensive xray. I had to keep asking questions they clearly did not want to answer and keep pushing until finally they reluctantly told me even if something showed up in the xray the treatment was still going to be wet dog food. 🙄 my dog got wet dog food and was fine and I skipped the unnecessary Xray, my bill was still outrageous, but not the something ridiculous (like $1200) they wanted for the Xray option. This was the 3rd and final visit after we received much of the same “options” offers rather then a vet actually telling us what was the best treatment plan any time one of our dogs was in need. A vet should be straight and tell you the best treatment, not try and guilt you into unnecessary and expensive procedures when you are panicking and vulnerable. There are (2) emergency vet options in Saint Charles that are way cheaper and better than this cash grab scam of an institution. Stay away.

  Both of my dogs have been to VCA Aurora in the past few months with complex medical issues. The staff in every specialty has been phenomenal namely Dr. Peacock, Dr. Medinger, and Dr. Shuster and their teams. I felt they all cared very much about my dogs and were very honest about the risks and benefits. For my younger dog, it was unfortunately an emergency which led to us needing to make a difficult end of life decision, but the staff gave us a private comfortable room to spend as much time as we needed. They were compassionate and kind. For my older dog, he had complex medical issues including a liver tumor and kidney disease. The team helped me make decisions that made the most sense for a senior dog and I am happy to say that the surgery to remove his tumor was successful due to the skills of Dr Peacock and his kidneys are under control with the help of Dr Medinger. My dog is acting 3 years younger and he is only 2 weeks out from his surgery. The specialists and their teams are ao amazing and helped me make difficult decisions for the best outcomes for my dogs.
