  Prior to discovering Maximum Sight & Sound, we contacted almost every audio-video store as far as Des Moines (we live in Marion). If I listed who they are, I would exhaust the maximum character limit allowed in a Google Review. Our request to every single store was exactly the same: we needed a dealer partner capable of providing a fully managed LG OLED 77” G6 (2026) acquisition and true flush-to-wall installation. Specifically, we wanted the panel physically inspected for pixel defects, banding, or uniformity issues before shipment. We also required them to apply specific baseline settings prior to delivery so everything would be ready to go: • Real Cinema: ON • All AI / Energy Saving features: OFF • Filmmaker Mode as the default across inputs • Auto Firmware Update: OFF • Panel care settings: Pixel Cleaning (Auto), Screen Move (ON), Logo Brightness (LOW), Auto Power Off (OFF) Every single store we contacted declined our request—even boutique reference audio and video shops selling high-end gear. Maximum Sight & Sound was the sole exception. The owner, Reed Bannon, was upfront that he no longer had the equipment for hardware calibration, but he readily agreed to handle the pre-shipment inspection, log the serial number and power hours, and apply all of our required baseline settings at his shop. He even sent photos of the recessed Arlington box he planned to use to ensure we were aligned on the flush profile. Beyond Reed’s willingness to accept the project (their shop is in Waterloo, 54 miles away) and his stellar communication, the meticulous attention to detail of the installation team was outstanding. Watching them remove our old junction box and install the new recessed one, I was struck by just how much care and consideration they applied to each step of the process. They measured and measured again, which was critical given our incredibly tight space margins; five inches below the panel and three inches above, all positioned above a fireplace, was not an easy assignment. “The guys” included me in several aesthetic decisions, making the entire process collaborative. They were never dismissive of my observations and actively incorporated my feedback. It was comforting to experience working together as a true team. The installation was clearly not an afterthought or a job they wanted to rush through just to get in and out. It was as if they were installing the television in their own living room. You really cannot ask for a higher dedication to service. Reed also reached out afterward to ask for our impressions of the picture. Since this is a flagship set that he special-ordered for us, he sincerely wanted to know how it performed. As for the picture itself—it already looks fantastic. Even before calibration, the performance is extremely impressive. We did make a number of adjustments to ensure a clean baseline: • Filmmaker Mode used as the foundation • TruMotion turned OFF (eliminating motion interpolation) • Real Cinema: ON • Sharpness set to 0 • All noise reduction and processing features turned OFF • AI Picture features disabled • Near Black Detail set to neutral (0) • Consistent settings applied across Dolby Vision and HDR10 Additionally, there was a pleasant surprise regarding firmware. Only the night before installation, I had watched the HDTVTest report discussing LG’s fix for a known issue. The set did not arrive with the latest update pre-installed, but when we checked manually, the newest firmware was already available for download. That timing was fortunate and appeared to have resolved those concerns right out of the gate. All of that said, I’m very much looking forward to seeing what the calibration brings—if the current image is this strong, I expect the final result to be something quite special. Thank you again to Reed and the team for everything—the product, the installation, and the overall experience. It’s clear that you take immense pride in doing things the right way, and it shows.

  Maximum Sight and Sound has been my go-to spot for years — I’ve picked up appliances, decked out my home audio setup, and every time I’ve walked in, I’ve been treated like family. Terry always made sure I was taken care of (probably knew what I needed before I did). Now that Reed’s running the show, it’s the same awesome service… just with a younger face and maybe a little more hair! 😄 Still the best in town — if you want great gear and even better people, this is the place.
