  This place is AMAZING ! I honestly can not say enough good things about it . We arrived with our sweet lil Buddy in distress and they immediately began to administer care . Buddy now 15 yrs old has been with us from his very 1st day into this world and LOVED more than life .Unfortunately upon assessment and with detailed consideration we determined how to proceed with medical care . With broken hearts we said our goodbyes to Buddy that day . The staff at this facility were so compassionate and understanding with us every step of the way. At a time like this it made all the difference in the world to have the emotional support we received from them while also being provided with the best professional care for our beloved Buddy! Before arriving at this facility we had went to our regular vet where we had went for Buddys care over the years but much to our surprise were turned away because they would be closing soon. (1 hour and 20 mins) Needless to say I will NEVER return to Afford A Care on SE 14th . If you love your pet like we loved Buddy I strongly recommend VCA AVONDALE VETERINARY HOSPITAL for all your pets care . When our visit was complete and we were exiting the building there it was still 10 minutes before the other facility’s closing time . I am forever grateful that facility turned us away that day and we ended up at VCA …they turned a very heartbreaking situation into a memory we can still look back at with love and peace knowing Buddy received the care he deserved up until his very last moment here with us. In our hearts forever Buddy brought so much love and joy !

  Had my cat spayed and vaccinated here. There was mis-information for pricing from original receptionist and real price was twice the original quote which actually required a consultation I also wasn't originally told about. Staff was friendly, loves my cat. At pick up I waited over 30 minutes to have my cat brought out and her release paperwork was not given to me. They did call to collect the rest of my payment the next day, which I could've taken care of at pick up but receptionist was too busy helping others that walked in after we did and didnt check if someone knew I was there for 20 minutes. I received her release papers a few days after payment. Seems to be a disconnect between the veterinary staff and the reception staff. 2 different levels of caring.
