  I brought my little Silky in yesterday. She’s had multiple UTI’s and this started at the Cat Depot. She wasn’t treated correctly there. All I can say is Dr Sherrill and her assistant were both amazing! The Dr was very clear on what was going on and how to treat her. They gave me options. I chose what I could afford and I have a follow up visit in 3 weeks for her second shot. I could tell she was feeling better last night. I highly recommend VCA Animal hospital on Lockwoodridge rd in Sarasota. Dr Sherrill was also very kind and sweet to Silky and I could tell she genuinely liked cats.

  If I could give this vet a 0 I would!! All they want is your money & not to care for your fur baby! I brought my 9yr old cat in as she wasn’t eating but drinking. This vet didn’t think it was her kidneys as she was still peeing. I asked the tech due to finances can we run a blood work for her kidneys. Been down this road of kidney feline disease w/ 2 of our Siamese cats years ago. The vet told the tech after giving me a large quote, we are only running the full panel only, & no other single tests. The next day, the vet calls me asking how she is doing. I told her she isn’t doing great but the same when we brought her in. She was very curt on the phone, “we don’t know what’s wrong with her without the bloodwork I wanted to run”! Then she hung up on me! They gave her an antibiotic &fluids, nauseous med, appetite stimulant which caused her to be lethargic. I contacted their online service & sent photos of her her gums &video of her breathing.” Her gums are grey & pale but nothing to worry about”. By Saturday, she declined rapidly! I contacted another vet & sent her photos & she couldn’t understand why this vet would not run the test we asked for! Late Saturday night, I was able to get thru to another vet I spoke with told me get to an emergency vet she is not well. My cat passed in my arms Sunday morning!! We are devastated & heartbroken! We ended up bringing our baby to another vet on Sunday, & they were beyond compassionate with us. I left a message with the front desk yesterday to let them know what they did. I was told the hospital manager was in a meeting! VCA is closed on Sundays otherwise I would have called them then. NO ONE has returned my call! I’m beyond angry of how we were dismissed! Ethics clearly is not a priority for this hospital! They knew exactly what was wrong with her!!’ No call back, nothing?? Don’t make the mistake of bringing your baby there!

  Friendly helpful staff and Dr's. Take their time to explain. Clean surrounding. Went for a check up and for the dog itching

  June 11,2026 had appointment at VCA for my service dog Bohdan. The vet tech was Anna and the Dr we saw was Dr. Charlotte Sherrell. Both Anna and Dr Sherrell were outstanding. The front receptionist was welcoming and kind. On our way out we met 5he hospital manager Amanda Lindsay who was also very kind and professional. At VCA you get the best care, treatment all with kindness and grace. The prednisone and betadine solution was very high. The antibiotic was a good price.
