Unacceptable Customer Service, Misleading Sales, and Appalling Management
Four months ago, I purchased a Samsung Galaxy A17 5G at Best Buy based on the direct recommendation of an in-store employee wearing a Samsung shirt. I replaced my Samsung Galaxy A33 5G, trusting this "expert" who assured me I was upgrading to a device that would perform much better. It was a huge mistake to trust someone who is supposedly there to help and guide customers.
Over the last four months, this new phone has been a nightmare. It freezes constantly, throws UI errors, and is incredibly slow. I just returned from a family vacation completely frustrated because the camera took so long to open that I missed capturing countless precious moments.
Yesterday, I went back to Best Buy. I understood that four months had passed, but I simply wanted to see if there were any options or anything that could be done to fix this. The initial staff was polite, but then they called the so-called store manager, Chris. I don't know if he was having a bad day or if he genuinely has no concept of customer service, but his attitude was absolutely appalling.
He was incredibly condescending, basically telling me "you get what you pay for" and asking what more I expected from a phone at that price. He arrogantly claimed they have sold tons of these units with no issues and that if I wanted something better, I had to pay more.
I made it very clear to him that my problem isn't about money. Whether a device costs $10, $100, or $1,000, it shouldn't be defective—especially when it was explicitly recommended by a store employee! Best Buy and Samsung need to properly train their staff to provide accurate guidance, rather than pushing incompetent sales just for the sake of making a sale. This entire experience, from the misleading recommendation to the terrible management, is completely unacceptable.
