What happened to my boyfriend and I was horrible. We couldn't bring ourselves to write this when it happened because of the grief and pain we were in. My boyfriend's beloved beautiful dog, Bella, had to be put down very sudden and so we rushed to this location at the end of 2024. He paid for a cremation and after a few weeks, found out that they had misplaced his deceased dog and lost his dog's ashes. We were already grieving and then got nothing besides a paw print on a piece of paper - as if she didn't matter or existed. He didnt get a refund nor any form of compensation or sorry from the office. He called them and they said they'd get back to him - never did. Continually adding insult to injury. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DYING PET HERE OR TRUST THEM WITH CREMATIONS OR HANDLING YOUR DECEASED PET. I wouldn't wish anyone this experience.

They only have one doctor on staff. I’ve never been to an animal hospital that doesn’t do the initial exam in front of you. Instead they insisted they take him away. He came back extremely scared. The doctor and I don’t remember her name but she was working at night August 15th, is awful! No compassion what so ever, told me we need to run all these test but your cat might die today.. who says that to a patient ?! She basically said your cat might need this test that we don’t offer but we can run these other tests to try and diagnose, but you probably won’t get the results we want and there’s no way to fix it ?! Just absolutely an awful doctor I don’t know why she chose to be a vet. She offered no solutions and no emotion. We had to go get a second opinion elsewhere, which turned out way better and with compassion.

This is the worst animal hospital I have ever been to and had the displeasure of experiencing. The vet techs and vets I have encountered have been the most rude and unknowledgeable people I have seen in the profession. The vet techs couldn’t answer a single question we had and neither could the vet herself. The vet said she had to pull out her textbook to “research” something regarding my cats. The animal negligence that goes on in this hospital is also possibly the most shocking part of this all. The people here and the way this place is run disgusts me. Sat there for over 5 hours and a vet techs came in and told me “the vet was supposed to leave 2 hours ago and won’t be coming back in to see you, and neither will any other vet”…… actually insane and disgusting behavior from the individuals. My cats left in the same, if not worse condition then they came in. Last thing to mention, they sedated one of my two cats for absolutely no reason and did no work on him. The vet also said “i accidentally sedated him a little more than i intended to”. Anyways, very disgusting place and it’s extremely concerning the way these people act and treat not only your pets, but you.

Even though, our visit on 8/1/26 was not under the best circumstances since we had to euthanize our baby girl, Adele; the team here at VCA Hollywood made this experience a little bit easier on my mother and I. After Adele was put to sleep, my mother was very distraught, she left there without asking for any ink pawprints and opted for communal cremation. She called me later that day and told me what had happened, I knew she would regret not getting any memorial items so I immediately called on her behalf since I live in Tampa. I spoke to Sal (who was very kind and understanding) and was able to switch the cremation over to private cremation - I paid over the phone and he made sure to add 5 courtesy ink pawprints for us. The whole situation was extremely sad and Adele was taken from us very abruptly, but we would still like to thank all of the staff here at VCA Hollywood for taking care of Adele and our family. Thank you Dr. Lukens for guiding my mom through this hard time, and thank you to the kind lady at the front desk that gave my mom a hug when she needed it most <3

I never write reviews but wow... this place is the worst emergency vet I've ever come across. The vet techs and vets are not attentive to the animals needing emergency care, they are incompetent and rude. They care more about gossiping and making faces rather than caring for our pets. They guess what is wrong with your pet and go forward with the treatment even if it's not right and can kill your animals or make them worse. Unless you can afford their care, you might see the vet once every 2 hours and have none of your questions answered. My girlfriend and I had this unfortunate experience here. The vet left last night without a word and never came back. When I requested another vet come in and do what we paid for them to do, which is take care of our pets, I was told no and we then got kicked out because I expressed frustration to the vet tech after being there for over 6 hours and our pets were worse than when we had come in. We brought our pets to another more competent vet which is what I recommend everyone should do if you want whats best for your pets.
