  For nine years, Dr. McKenzie cared for my Maltese, Coco, and I can truly say he is an exceptional veterinarian. His kindness, patience, and genuine love for animals showed in every visit. He always took the time to listen, explain, and make sure Coco was comfortable and well cared for. It’s rare to find a doctor who treats your pet like family, but that’s exactly who Dr. McKenzie is. I’m deeply grateful for the compassion and dedication he showed throughout Coco’s life. He is a blessing to every pet and pet parent who walks through his doors.

  VCA Simmons—especially the Barker Hotel team—has been a true blessing in our lives. They have been the loving home of my brother, Max Fox, and I have witnessed firsthand the care, compassion, and genuine affection they have shown him over the years. Their kindness has meant more to our family than words can express. My parents, Donald and Charlene, trusted VCA Simmons with Max’s wellbeing, and that trust was always honored. When our father Donald passed away in February, it was an incredibly difficult time, but the way the staff continued to love and support Max made the journey a little easier for all of us. Now, with Charlene medically unable to care for Max, our family had to make one of the hardest decisions of our lives—entrusting him fully to someone else’s care. The entire staff at VCA Simmons stood by us through every step of that decision. One of their team members even stepped in immediately to ensure Max would continue to receive the love and stability he deserves. We will miss Max terribly, but we do not fear or worry.   I've been here three times and every single time I've come it's always kind of dirty. There's dog hair on the chairs all on the floor. It's just not very sanitary and every single time I come I have to wait for a very long time even when I have an appointment. So I'm taking my dog elsewhere. I will not be recommending this place at all.

  I brought my pet in for what should have been a simple veterinary visit, and unfortunately, my experience left me feeling more like I was being sold services than receiving care. My pet is perfectly healthy, yet the gentleman with the iPad who spoke very very loud seemed far more focused on adding tests, procedures, and recommendations to my bill than addressing the reason I originally came in. Before I knew it, the estimated cost of a routine visit was climbing toward $2,000. It felt like every conversation led to another upsell rather than a discussion about what was actually necessary for my pet's health. As a pet owner, I expect honest guidance and recommendations based on medical need, not a sales pitch. He basically tried to twist my arm with every recommendation. I understand that preventive care and additional services can sometimes be beneficial, but the pressure to approve so many expensive and seemingly unnecessary items was uncomfortable and frustrating. Pet parents should be aware and ask questions before agreeing to anything. My experience left me feeling like revenue was prioritized over the actual reason for my visit therefore, I wont be back.
