Had to take my little sidekick in for a checkup. He is always taken care of at VCA.

I am, unfortunately, disappointed with the care my dog received at this clinic. For three months, she has been being treated with multiple rounds of antibiotics for a recurring UTI and I was repeatedly charged for additional urine testing, despite already having identified an appropriate susceptible antibiotic. During our most recent visit, I specifically expressed my frustration and questioned the need for yet another round of testing. I had formerly carefully followed all instructions and returned with a proper urine sample as requested. Despite this, I was told a sterile urine collection was necessary, resulting in additional costs, and no other diagnostic options were discussed or recommended. After seeking a second opinion, I learned that my poor girl actually has a large bladder mass requiring surgery. I was surprised that, given this was the new clinic’s course of action on her first ever visit, that no X-rays or imaging had ever been suggested nor performed previously, despite months of ongoing symptoms that were not resolving with ongoing antibiotic treatment. I understand that diagnoses can be challenging and of course the goal is to thoroughly rule out one diagnosis before moving to the next, but after three months of unsuccessful treatment, I would have expected a more thorough investigation into the underlying cause. Isn’t the definition of insanity doing the same things over and over again but expecting different results? Instead, I feel that significant time and money was wasted here, and am overall confused by the lack of progression in her treatment plan. Regardless, I have transitioned my dog over to the new clinic and am relieved to finally have solved this mystery — though finding a mass is nerve-wracking! Please pray for my poor fur-baby who has her mass removal surgery next week.

Bought out by corporation and now changed everything they do.. prices increased to make more profits.. they overbook to just pump out visits and money. I have been taking my one cat in for walk in tech visits for her monthly shots first thing in the morning when I could find time from work. I have been doing this for 2 years. No warning, no calls to inform me, they just don’t have walk ins anymore. I said I was just in last month, “yeah policies changed”… I said I will have to find another place to take my pets… I get “ok” as the response. I understand when companies are bought by a company for profits. But when they stop carrying about their clients and pets that’s when it’s gone too far. Go if you want an overpriced vet.

I brought my senior dog in and everyone was so delightful! The doctor and vet tech were extremely patient and kind with my senior boy and took the time to listen to all my concerns. I highly recommend bringing your fur-baby here! Also the vet tech who helped us, Nicholas, was amazing and super helpful!
