  I went there with my aging pet to get a clearance for the animal control officer who found him walking around after he got out. I made an appointment by phone or online one of the other and I showed up for my appointment and they said I didn’t confirm the appointment and they said they couldn’t see him that day and I told him I’m moving. I’m leaving on Tuesday out of state and it was a Friday. They said we’ll put you on a waiting list when I made the appointment that’s confirmation of the appointment plus they called an old phone number that they had in a computer. I’m like what? I don’t have to say this, but I’m gonna say it anyway I would never go to another VCA ever and I do mean ever. They turned my pet away that needed their services. Let that sink in before you book an appointment at this place.

  I brought my dog in to have her examined for a urinary tract infection after she started having accidents outside of her character. The vet spent a short time with her and suspected she may have a pyrometra. After the vet tech took her back to obtain a urine sample and a blood sample the vet tech returned very quickly to the room where she gave the unqualified diagnosis of a pyrometra due to the large size of the dog's uterus that was noted while trying to obtain the urine sample. I then asked if she could provide me with a quote for spaying her and without even reviewing the schedule the vet tech stated they were booking out several months, possibly until next year, and I should look else where for the procedure and was sent home with the dog and nothing but antibiotics after being told that her pyrometra could burst at any moment and it was life threatening if it did. The following business day I was contacted by the vet on duty and told all labs looked normal and the vet recommended the next steps to be an X-ray to further determine whether it was possibly a pyrometra. I explained that I wasn't interested in simply having an X-ray and that I would like to move forward with the spay procedure (after the vet tech scared me into believing the dog was like a ticking time bomb), but had been informed that they would be unable to perform the procedure. Miraculously, the vet found availability that same day, for which I was thankful. While operating on the dog, I was contacted and informed that upon visible examination of the organ, there was no active pyrometra. Good news. I later returned to the vet to pick her up where I was recommended to transfer the dog to the ER for observation as she was still very groggy from sedation. I asked for clarification on this recommendation because a procedure to spay a dog is typically an outpatient procedure with the pet returning home the same day. After over hearing I had simply asked for clarification the SAME vet tech the put me into the predicament of unnecessarily performing an emergency spay barged into the waiting area and told me that it was NOT a recommendation and that I MUST take the dog to the ER for observation, no ifs ands or buts. Shocker, another scare tactic. I left VCA and took the dog to the emergency vet, however the vet on duty at the ER entered the room, reviewed the dogs record and performed a brief examination and immediately looked at me and told me that they felt it was unnecessary for her to be there. While I do believe the ACTUAL vet (not the vet tech) in this situation acted compassionate, understanding and made sure I was informed along their way, their rogue vet tech using scare tactics talking me into seeking unnecessary treatment and ultimately scaring me into a potential misdiagnosis and unnecessary procedure is unacceptable and I will not be returning to their office. Long story short, the dog is still having accidents and it's completely unrelated to her health. We now suspect it is most likely from the previous homeowners dog having had accidents in the same area of the house we moved into within the past few months as the dog is otherwise in good health. Someone should have a conversation with that tech, though.

  Showed up 6 minutes late to an appointment booked out almost a whole month away. Got done with a 14 hr work day, showed up with confirmation I was coming. Empty lobby. Lady at the counter pointed out I was late and might have to wait. First lady comes right out, takes him in to weigh and ask questions. Went to get the doctor for a simple shot invoice and anal gland check. First lady comes back and says unfortunately since you were late, we have another opening 2 hours from now. I drove 40 mins to get there. The doctor isn't even needed for the anal gland expression or shot invoice. Now tell me how there's an opening appointment but I had to wait a whole month for an empty place. Rude and lazy doctor in my opinion

  I took my beloved friend, my cat to get his nails trimmed and the groomer should be fired. My cat had knobs and there was blood. I just purchased a trimmer and I will be doing my cats nails from now on. Now I need a new vet office.
