I was unfortunately not home leading up to when my 15-year old rescue chihuahua, Zeus, got sick that he needed end of life care. His regular vet had given a list of hospitals in case he didn't make it through the night, and by the time I got to him I knew I only had a few hours left with him. It was tough to say goodbye to my companion who had come to me eleven years ago. But I was so grateful for the understanding, care, and attention everyone at VCA gave to Zeus and my family on his last day. On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, they made us all feel as comfortable as possible on the worst day of every pet owner. I can't thank the team enough for their kindness to my wonderful, beloved friend. It was hard to say goodbye and hard to pick up his remains, but through every step the experience was as good as it could be. Zeus will forever be in our hearts. I am grateful for all the time I had with him.

They were able to take care of my boston terrier. Everything we spoke of over the phone happened with price and all the possibilities. Im extremely excited that they were able to take of my boston terrier amd saving her life with no tricks or extra tactics to get more money out of me. I knew my boston was in good hands.

VCA Shoreline was incredible in taking care of our dog Pluto when she needed emergency surgery for IVDD. They acted quickly, stayed in constant communication, and were so kind throughout the process. Pluto is healing beautifully and is back to her usual self! I would not hesitate to return to VCA in the future. They are the best!

Honestly just disappointed in this emergency animal hospital. My dog was brought here this morning due to throwing up consistently throughout the night. They stated he was dehydrated. So therefore they gave him IVs. One thing I don't like is you're unable to go back their with your animal so therefore who even knows if what they're saying they're providing for your animal they really are... but sooner or later they tried to say my dog suddenly had a black stool & that he has internal bleeding. How did we go from dehydration to internal bleeding ? Then they wanted to charge me almost 10k. Honestly not even reasonable here what so ever. My dog is currently home now with me & still is very lethargic. Not only that, but he still is consistently looking for more water in his dish.. thought the IVs would've helped him more.. honestly ridiculous.

I rushed my puppy to this clinic because he was severely dehydrated and needed fluids. About 20–35 minutes later, the doctor came in and told me my puppy was critically ill and that his treatment would cost between $7,000 and $10,000. When I explained that I simply couldn’t afford that amount, I immediately felt pressured to apply for CareCredit. Instead of discussing reasonable alternatives, it seemed like more and more charges were being added to the estimate. I was then told I should consider surrendering my puppy to a rescue that would pay for his care. I asked if it would be possible for my puppy to stay for fluids and receive medication so I could continue caring for him at home. However, the doctor repeatedly insisted that if I took him home, he would die. At one point, I even felt pressured to sign paperwork to surrender my puppy because the doctor said she knew someone who loved my dog’s breed. The experience was confusing and upsetting. One moment I was told my puppy might be okay, and the next I was being told to either take out a $10,000 loan, surrender my dog, or expect him to die. I felt intimidated rather than supported during an already emotional situation. In the end, I followed my instincts. I paid over $1,300 for medications and brought my puppy home. Since then, I’ve cared for him myself, and he has made an incredible recovery. He is now thriving and doing amazingly well. I understand that emergency veterinary care is expensive and that veterinarians have to prepare owners for worst-case scenarios. However, I left feeling that there was far more emphasis on expensive treatment plans and financing than on working with me to find a realistic option for my puppy’s care. I hope this clinic will focus more on compassion, communication, and helping pet owners explore all available options before making them feel like they have no choice.
