Don't let the VCA name fool you! This Deer Creek location has nothing to do with all of the other VCA's around town. They don't share records between animals and this location in particular refused to fill an allergy prescription written by VCA Dakota Ridge (less than 2 miles down the road, but Dakota Ridge closes earlier). I've unfortunately had to deal with this Deer Creek location just a handful of times and EVERY SINGLE VISIT has let my wife and I down.

I'm extremely disappointed in their service. Took my cat in for what appear to be an obvious limp on his front left paw. Told the vet that he occasionally gets into fights and usually develops an abscess from various animal bites. After the initial examination, the doctor couldn't find any bite wound. I continued to mention he has been favoring his left paw since yesterday afternoon. The vet placed him the ground to walk around and monitor his movements. My cat tried to jump up on the bench but he couldn't use his left paw. Vet said she didn't see any problem. I said did you see that. She said no. Next, they checked his temperature and it was 105 degrees. They wanted to run a whole complete diagnostic of blood, urine and xray tests. They quoted me a price of 1400 to see what was causing the fever. I agreed to the testing. In addition, they also quoted me a possible overnight stay which brought the estimate to $2500-$3000. I frantically stood there waiting for 2.5 hours for the results and wondering if the results were bad I might have to put my cat down. They had to sedate him in order to calm him down and complete the x-rays. Before they started the x-rays, they noticed something on his left front paw. You guess it! An abscess wound. So frustrating! This oversight isn't my biggest compliant with Deer Creek because I get it, mistakes happen. It's the aftermath of the mistake that is my biggest issue. The vet wanted to administer fluids to bring down his fever. I asked them if they could wrap the wound. They agreed. An hour later, a vet technician comes back and tells they can't do any of it because he's too anxious and resistant. I was there a week ago for an annual checkup and I request blood work to be performed and guess what, they told me he was too anxious and resistant to draw blood. I've better experiences there, but if this place can't provide the best care for your pet, I recommend going elsewhere.

My dog was choking due to something stuck deep in her throat. I rushed in without appt.and they took her right away. Endoscope did not reveal object but she was still having problems. She could breathe and relaxed a bit. So Dr was going to be in shortly to look further. About 15 minutes later she coughed up a chunk of wood which had to be too deep to see. I was very scared and emotional but because Erin and April were so caring and calm, I knew our dog, Mickey, would be ok. So kudos to two awesome people who are a valuable asset to Deer Creek Veterinary. There was no charge for this scary time. Please know this clinic does a lot of wonderful things.

When our family experienced an unexpected emergency with my father-in-law, Deer Creek Hospital stepped in without hesitation. He was admitted to the ICU, and it was one of the scariest moments our family has ever faced. We had no idea what the outcome would be, and all we knew was that we needed to get to Oklahoma as quickly as possible to be with him and support my husband during such a difficult time. The team at Deer Creek Hospital got our babies in right away, without judgment, without turning us away, and with so much kindness and compassion. In the middle of the chaos, they made a stressful situation feel manageable by ensuring our pets would be safe and well cared for while we were gone. While we were away, our dogs and our baby kitten were in amazing hands. Samantha was wonderful about keeping me updated and letting me know how everyone was doing. Those thoughtful updates brought so much peace of mind and took away the constant fear and guilt that comes with leaving your pets behind during an emergency. It was clear they took the time to get to know each of our babies as individuals. Hearing that Jefe loved running around outside with Prada made me smile, and knowing Little Bit enjoyed being held by Jake showed me how much love and attention he received. Hiccup absolutely soaked up all the cuddles and pets she could get, and I loved hearing that she spent her days exploring the cat area with so much curiosity. Those little details meant the world to us because they showed our pets weren't just being watched; they were genuinely being cared for, loved, and treated like family. Knowing they were safe, happy, and receiving so much affection allowed me to focus on what truly mattered, being present for my husband, supporting his family, and navigating the uncertainty surrounding his father's condition. That gift of peace of mind is something I can never fully put into words. The level of compassion, professionalism, and genuine care we experienced from everyone at Deer Creek Hospital is something we will never forget. They didn't just take care of our pets, they took care of our family by giving us one less thing to worry about during one of the most difficult times of our lives. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to Samantha, Jake, and the entire team at Deer Creek Hospital. Your kindness, communication, and the love you showed Jefe, Little Bit, Prada and Hiccup made an incredible difference. We will always be grateful for the care you gave our babies when we needed it most.

I didn't have any issues with my previous veterinary clinic. I was happy with the care we received there, although we sadly lost our beloved little dog, Sophia, in April. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge after a long and happy life. When we welcomed our new puppy, Bianca, the place where we got her provided us with a voucher for her first veterinary visit at VCA Deer Creek Animal Hospital. From my very first phone call to schedule the appointment, I was impressed. Melissa was attentive, patient, kind, and genuinely caring. Lately, I've had several disappointing experiences with customer service, where I was treated poorly despite paying for services. Melissa's professionalism and compassion immediately stood out and played a major role in my decision to make VCA our new veterinary clinic. When we arrived for Bianca's appointment, we were equally impressed with the clinic itself. The facility was spotless, warm, and welcoming. The atmosphere was calm, and everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there. It was clear that the staff cared not only about the animals but also about their clients and one another. Thank you to everyone at VCA for making Bianca's first visit such a positive experience. My husband, our puppy, and I were treated with kindness, respect, and professionalism from beginning to end. We truly appreciate the outstanding care and exceptional customer service, and we look forward to many years of trusting Bianca's health to your team.
