Nadia Rifat, Veterinarian presents with a compassionate nature towards our furry dog, Karr. We appreciate her patience. Nadia is friendly and takes the time to thoroughly review Karr's records to ensure the best care & medications are provided. We also appreciate the front desk staff members when they check us in. Encina's front desk staff members are always professional. The facility there is bright, cheerful and clean. Nadia Rifat, Vet is caring, compassionate towards Karr even though he makes such a big fuss with his talking/barking and anxiety issues at the age of 14 years old. Encina saved Karr's life months ago when he was there overnight with Pneumonia and we are forever grateful.

I brought my baby/dog Chubba in to have him put down; I believe he may have had a stroke and was in really bad shape. As I had never been to this facility before, I was unsure what to expect; other vets had left me with a not-so-positive attitude. From the moment I walked in the door, everyone I dealt with was nice, caring, and compassionate. They took Chubba from me immediately and took him directly to the back to be checked out, while someone led me and my friend to a waiting room so we wouldn't have to stay in the lobby. I was advised that Chubba was indeed in bad shape and putting him down was the most humane thing to do. They quickly proceeded to get Chubba ready and brought him in so I could hold him while he passed. The entire visit was very emotional for me (I think I cried the entire time I was there), but I think the way the staff handled it all made it so much easier. I don't think there was anything that could have been done better.

During Diva’s last hours, Adrianna (RVT) stayed close by and ready to treat a seizure. She didn’t rush us, and gave us sufficient time. She also was super accommodating to bring Diva a great last meal. I appreciate the transparency and constant updates from the doctors, as well. Also, pictures sent to me while she was hospitalized.

We’ve loved everyone that Jasper has seen! We LOVE VCA! When Jasper had a bump on his paw, possible dx of cancer, a vet clinic we’d gone to a few times left us feeling uneasy. We researched Vets with experience in cancer med… then researched top Veterinary Schools …. Cross referenced the data points and found Dr. Atwater at VCA that matched our criteria. He was phenomenal. We went back for dental cleaning (Dr Da Bin Lee) and when he had stomach upset that didn’t seem to want to resolve (Dr Priest). Impressed each time. On a recheck of bumps (benign) we asked if we could establish with them as our regular Vet and we were scheduled with Dr Anderson…. Loved her. The doctors and assistants always listen, they answer questions thoroughly, treatment plans/testing etc makes sense.

We had an incredibly challenging weekend. Our my sweet boy Gustaaf, who potentially ingested an unknown quantity of mothballs after getting into the trash where we had discarded them. We had no idea how many, or if he had eaten any at all. In a panic, we searched for a nearby emergency veterinary clinic and found one that took Goose in right away. They had us contact poison control right away, who helped us determine what kind of moth balls it was, and therefore worked with the vet for treatment. They kept him overnight and into the next day as a precaution. I was a complete mess, dreading the thought of losing him this way. At 12 years old, I know I will face that day eventually, but not like this—due to our own dumb oversight. I’m still sick to my stomach over this crazy situation. We were fortunate to have an exceptionally kind and knowledgeable young veterinarian, Dr. Heeg. It felt like fate brought us to her. Thank you God!!! 🙏🏻 I’m immensely grateful to the entire staff, not to mention our gratitude to Dr. Walters, who took care of him overnight. This clinic has secured my loyalty for life! Thank you so much, Dr. Heeg! 💞. We are officially adopting you and the clinic!
