John is incompetent and grumpy. He gives a lot of attitude for someone so small. 80 year old or so guy. He was in the middle of helping me and while he was waiting for my software to update he walked away without saying anything and did not come back at all after waiting 30 whole minutes. I wasted my time.

I had an exceptional experience at the Apple Store thanks to Romeo and Collin. They spent over an hour with me troubleshooting a complex issue with Verizon after I purchased a new iPhone—and never once made me feel rushed. Both were incredibly professional, friendly, and deeply knowledgeable. What really stood out was their patience and commitment to actually solving the problem, not just handing it off. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was fully resolved before I left. This is exactly the kind of customer experience you hope for but rarely get. Huge thanks to Romeo and Collin for their outstanding support!

TLDR: Call ahead to make sure they have the parts you need. If you have to wait more than 5 minutes, check in again. Absolutely abysmal flow for getting service even with an appointment. Before making an appointment for battery replacement, call ahead and make sure they have the parts or risk wasting an hour of your time watching service people stand around and do nothing. We checked in at the front and scanned our QR code for our service appointment and was told to take a seat. That check in was apparently worthless because you have to check in again at the unmarked service table (middle row) despite having no clear instructions to do so.

So my iPhone 12 Pro display just died after updating to the latest iOS (iOS 26.4.2), it flashed green and went black but the phone itself was still working fine, touchscreen, haptics, everything was responsive it was just the screen. I reserved a genius bar appointment, bought a new iPhone 17 as a replacement and came in thinking apple would at least help me get my data off the old phone. I wasn't even asking for a free repair. The manager named "King" came to assist me and basically told me my only options were to pay 279 dollars for a new display or go to a data recovery center, "get your data recovered" and that apple didn't support any of this. When I told him the display died right after the iOS update and the phone was otherwise completely functional he had no interest in listening. At one point he actually said "you are going to stay a long time here backing up that phone" in a condescending tone and left the scene. I was in the middle of the Apple store with no help. Out of fury I got my new iPhone and left. To top things off the new iPhone box was also severely damaged. That same night I eventually figured it out myself. I did not have a Lightning Digital AV Adapter, so I used the black screen and somehow touched the keys to mirror my screen to my Mac. After that I backed everything up and transferred it to the new phone in a few hours. Not one single person at the store thought to suggest this. I came in as a paying customer who already bought a new phone and just asked for some help. I was given a solution to go to a data recovery service and pay 1000 dollars when Apple could have literally helped me with suggesting I use the AV adapter. I really don't understand how apple lets people like this represent their brand. Not buying another product from Apple again.
