I was helped by Ashley. She had no idea how to help me. As I was waiting for help, I noticed the Genius Bar was really promoting how to “fix” a problem through buying more or newer items. I was not surprised Ashley’s fix was to buy something to fix my issue. I ended up calling Apple Support, got a quick fix… and spent $0. Train your people, help your customers or you might lose them.

Disappointed with my recent experience at the Roseville Apple Store. I scheduled an appointment for my unresponsive HomePod mini, which had no physical damage. After spending over an hour at the store and driving 45 minutes since it’s the closest location to me, the only solution offered was a $79 replacement for a product that originally costs $99.
I also spoke with a manager before leaving to see if there were any other troubleshooting or repair options available, but was still advised replacement was the only path forward.
The staff attempted a few restores but said there were no additional repair or diagnostic options available. Once I got home, I restored the HomePod again myself and held the volume buttons during setup, which completely fixed the issue.
I understand electronics can fail, but I expected more thorough troubleshooting before being advised to nearly replace the entire product. Frustrating experience overall.

1 star for the experience, 5 stars for Sammie — she's the only reason this isn't a 1.
Let me be upfront: if I could rate my overall experience with Apple's trade-in process separately, it would be a 1 star — and only because 0 isn't an option. This 5-star rating is entirely for Sammie at the Roseville location, who single-handedly salvaged what had been an exhausting and deeply frustrating ordeal.
My trade-in value was reduced from $830 to $60 due to a broken camera — something I was unaware of when I sent the phone in. When I called Apple support, the representative was humming a happy song during our conversation, which was far from appropriate given the situation. She advised me not to accept the reduced offer and to wait for my phone to be returned. I followed that advice. I then visited the Roseville store, where a lead told me I could pay $199 to fix the camera and recover most of the trade-in value. I made clear the camera was working when I sent it — and got nowhere.
In total, I spoke with four different Apple employees and received four completely different pieces of advice. By the time my phone was returned and I went back to the store, the 30-day window had closed and the original offer had expired — a direct result of the contradictory guidance I'd been given.
That's when I met Sammie. She listened carefully, asked the right questions, and immediately understood that I shouldn't be putting more money into the old phone. She acknowledged that the conflicting advice was unacceptable, and without hesitation offered me the full $830 as a credit. I wasn't expecting that at all. Her common sense, empathy, and accountability are the reason I'm not switching to Android. Sammie — thank you. You're an amazing human.

Worst Apple Store I have been to. Appointment was 25+ minutes late. Employee and floor manager both lied about Apple using refurbished products for replacements when an apple representative I spoke with on the phone afterward admitted that the company sometimes uses refurbished products for AppleCare replacements. Don’t waste your time and just call/email Apple; their customer service is just as bad but at least you can save your time/gas and don’t need to sit in a 100 decibel building for an hour to have your concerns marginalized and disingenuous and rude employee lie to your face.

My experience with the Apple Store in Roseville was extremely frustrating and disappointing.
I purchased a gift card with the intention of using it right away for an Apple Watch, but the staff insisted on a complicated process involving adding the balance to my Apple ID and placing an online order. This created unnecessary confusion and delays, and ultimately, I was unable to complete my purchase in-store as expected.
What made the situation worse was the lack of clear guidance and support. I spent an entire week trying to resolve the issue through Apple Support — hours on phone calls and chats — only to be passed from one representative to another without any real solution.
A week later, I went to a different Apple Store, and the experience was completely different. They allowed me to pay directly with the gift card, with no need for online orders or adding funds to my account. The process was simple, fast, and exactly what I originally expected. I received my Apple Watch immediately without any issues.
This highlights a serious inconsistency in service and training. The Roseville location made a straightforward purchase unnecessarily complicated, while another store handled it efficiently within minutes.
Overall, very disappointed with the Roseville store and the Apple Support experience. I hope Apple improves both staff training and customer support responsiveness.
