My friend’s terminally ill cat was euthanized here, and despite repeated requests, the staff refused to provide any sedative or relaxant beforehand. The cat became extremely distressed, and the staff then struggled for an extended period to find a vein for the injection. Many veterinary clinics offer oral sedatives before euthanasia to help pets remain calm and comfortable in their final moments. If a peaceful, compassionate goodbye is important to you, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

This is definitely the number one veterinarian service in all of the Coachella Valley. Staff is incredible. The vets are amazing caring they actually call the next day for anything that’s a serious nature to check on your dog or your cat. It’s just an amazing place. You can rely on these guys and they will actually treat you 24 hours a day if you were if

I completely understand being cautious around bigger breed dogs or restricted dogs. I have a German shepherd and I will say in the years of experience I have working at a veterinary urgent care\ER who also did general practice that the techs and doctors are very unfamiliar with working these breeds. My dog was definitely traumatized when they brought him to the back and muzzled him. He gave little inclination to need to be muzzled and it stressed him out way more than needed. Mind you my dog is muzzled trained for these instances. My dog had explosive diarrhea for days following after just being seen to be boarded here not even getting anything done. He is a well socialized dog (who is not perfect by any means but has never growled, lunged, barked or bit a person) I normally have no issue with them taking him to the back but I’m positive that is where he was mishandled in some way. After taking him to a new clinic I got nothing but glowing reviews from the staff about how well he did and he was a very sweet boy. He was very calm and no signs of stress. He let the doctor and techs do absolutely everything with no issues. I would rethink going to this clinic if you have bigger breed dogs or a restricted dog breed. The staff here are unfamiliar and def uncomfortable dealing with these breeds. This includes the doctor who barely came near him. At past clinics I worked at if we felt the need to muzzle a dog we wouldn’t usually risk checking in his mouth. When I asked if he had done something to the staff to get muzzled they said no. And they were also able to look in his mouth. The logic of stressing a dog out more just because you are uncomfortable and don’t like the breed makes no sense. Again if you have a large breed dog I would think twice about coming here.

I would give this place no stars if that was a rating. After being a loyal customer for over 15 years and spending major money with various pets though the years I move back to the desert after being away for 8 years. I immediately called to re-establish services for my animals. The first time I called to set up an appointment for shots I was told I’d be called back and never was. The second time I called to set up grooming they said they’d check with the groomer and get right back. They never did! The 3rd time I called was an emergency with my 14 year old Yorkie who was once a patient and since they were only 3 minutes away I was for sure they’ed squeeze him in but no the vet were full. What is wrong with this valley? Only one emergency vet clinic for all of Coachella! And VCA is the worse, especially Palm Springs! I find them to be uncaring, unprofessional, no empathy, basically a piss poor excuse for a pet clinic. Highly inhumane. So I will never take an animal there again. I find Palm Springs Animal Hospital at least more accommodating but still not on par with Orange County. It’s a sad state for this valley’s animals if that’s the only kind of care available. I wish I would have checked this out before moving here. VCA Palm Springs is the absolute worse kind of veterinary care since they are so uncaring and removed from suffering.
