I just got home from an unplanned vet visit and I am so happy to have tried VCA HMB. I felt the staff and vet were genuine, informed and professional. They have easy booking online which is how I scheduled . Compassionate communication and reasonable pricing. (Which I have not had in the past but felt I needed to tolerate) I left feeling calm about our dogs needs, they explained options. Thank you!!! We will be moving all our pet care to you!

They seem to really care here. My dog went from terrified of the vet to napping in the exam room. They examined our dog in front of us and gave him his vaccinations without him even noticing. That’s how it should be and unfortunately it’s been hard to find, but this place was good. It was a bit pricier than some other places but worth it for the quality of care and comfort I felt my dog got. Dr. Griffith was knowledgeable and clearly an animal lover.

Love these people! They are really helpful and loving to my tiny pup. I also love the VCA club which makes dental, vaccinations and check ups really affordable!

So got a dog, and have a regular veterinarian clinic that I take him to, anyhow in October bought a second pup in Half Moon Bay, which is roughly a 40 minute drive from where I live. The pup was due for its routine puppy vaccines, and thought why not take it to the veterinarian that she’s (the pup) already been going in Half Moon Bay. So I did, made an appointment at VCA Half Moon Bay Animal Hospital, the appointment was at 4pm, arrived about 4 minutes late (traffic and weather issues)...met with the veterinarian, (Lisa Heath) during the assessment she takes my pup to what I assume was the “back” for its vaccines however, just before she does she begins having trouble working the retractable leash my pup was utilizing, and then proceeds to express her opinion on that type of leash and why she doesn’t like them, so I basically said ok, and that I have different types of leashes for different activities...anyhow she takes my pup to the back, brings my pup back, we wrapped up the appointment, and just before walking out the exam room, it was asked what was the puppy’s weight, but she couldn’t say because she didn’t know, because she forgot to check the puppy’s weight and had to go back and do it. I mean it was kinda important, because that’s how you know how much to feed the puppy.(medical history report, neglected to have the weight as well) Rating one star, because other than the facility being fairly clean and the front desk being courteous, the unwarranted advice by the veterinarian, on why she (Lisa Heath) didn’t approve of that type of leash, was a little too righteous and annoying, because I’ve already had my methods approved with canine trainers, and the poor or incomplete assessment of my pup, regarding its weight... In retrospect, time was wasted going to VCA Half Moon Bay Animal Hospital and It’s probably a $20-$30 price increase from surrounding Veterinarian Clinics within 25 miles...If being 4 minutes unintentionally late caused the negative experience, I would have much rather been told to come back some other time.
