Horrible experience. I got there at 7:15pm I took my 10 year old cat and waited over 2 hours. I asked the receptionist if it was going to take longer because my cat wasnt looking well and started having a heavy breath. She went inside to ask a vet and she said that the vet suggested to take it to another urgent care in case my cat needed oxygen they didn't have it. I asked her to ask again since Im Not a vet I was probably overreacting and ask if the vet can i see her so we can stay and wait. Receptionist came back out again and said yeah the vet suggested to go to another urgent care. She gave me a list of places and I called them and one was closer so I went to this other place by then it was almost 10pm. I had to wait another 2 hours. My baby passed inside of the carrier at midnight 😩 😢 VCA let us down. We were already there, we waited for over 2 hours and the vet didn't want to see her.

I went in for emergency care for my baby angel, Kitty who was about 4 to 5 weeks old with severe life threatening symptoms. I called on the way and was advised to come in right away. Once arrived, Kitty was treated immediately by Emily and Dr. Srinath who provided a heart warming care. They were very straight-forward with the treatment options and the cost. After proper care, Kitty came home. Dr. Srinath continuously communicated with us with text messages. However, Kitty went to heaven the following morning. Despite being my first time at VCA Chatoak, we had an "wow" experience, being treated with loving care and dignity. Thank you for the kind care you provided at the last hours of my baby angel, Kitty and please continue to provide above and beyond services to all other pet friends.

I have taken my Yorkie here for emergency in the past and very reasonably priced. Just took my other dog for dental care; seven teeth extractions. My dog is recovering quickly and I can tell he has gotten relief and is happy again. They really care for your pets here.

Brought my 14 year old dog for an emergency visit, and they completely ignored us for 3 hours, promised updates and then disappeared, and then when we asked about updates, we were told ā€œthey know, they’re coming to give you an update,ā€ but no one would come for another half hour. We ended up just leaving, my dog had 2 more seizure like episodes in the days after. We found another emergency vet who asked us to come in immediately for the same symptoms. We were immediately referred to a specialist because of the severity of the symptoms completely ignored by VCA Chatoak, and for a fraction of the price. Not to mention they insisted on a rectal temperature, even after my dog cried and refused. Instead of then doing an ear temperature, like every other vet I’ve ever visited, the vet tech just left without taking his temperature at all. This was one of the scariest moments I’ve had with a pet, and VCA Chatoak multiplied the trauma. I would never send a pet I was worried about to anyone working at this office. Meanwhile, another elderly dog also left while we were waiting for just not being treated or seen. It is despicable how these people treat elderly animals, and if we were seen, I’m sure the bill would have been over $400. My bill at the emergency vet that actually provided quality services was less than $150, including tests. Save you and your pet the trauma and look for another vet.

It is with great gratitude that I write this feedback to what has proven to be the best team of healthcare individuals for my beloved 13-year-old mini schnauzer; Dr Jones. After taking him to his previous regular vet that had seen him his entire life, during a health crisis back in December of 2025, he simply stated that there was nothing he could do and that I should consider the ā€œalternativeā€ as opposed in helping him survive this crisis. I am so glad I didn’t listen to him and came to VCA ChatOak where they immediately took my boy, examined and treated him for what turned out to be a Diabetic Ketoacidosis that they quickly were able to diagnose and provide treatment for. First treated by Dr Gouldburn who initially identified the problem, and followed by Dr Srinath, who is now my pet’s primary doctor, demonstrated their invaluable talent, ability and compassion in caring for him, to which my wife and I are forever in their debt for giving our pet a second chance in life. Dr Srinath, along with her team of extremely skilled and caring techs, convalesced my very delicate boy to an almost full recovery and keep providing the treatment that he needs to thrive and continue living life comfortably. Dr Srinath’s love of her profession undoubtedly incarnates what any pet lover wishes to see in their pet’s healthcare provider, and we could not be more appreciative of her and her team’s excellent service. Thank you Dr Srinath, VT Nicole and everyone at Chatoak for your wonderful assistance. Luis A.
