I had a bad experience at the Apple in Pasadena before. But the employees at this Apple changed my negative impression of the company. Even during the busy first weekend after the iPhone 18 launch, their staff maintained professional service. 👍

WORST experience buying a new iphone EVER! Not only it is no longer possible to finance or lease the phone without having one of the three major carriers, but even when I switched to Verizon (spending two hours at the mall) my account was flagged as ineligible for the purchase. And instead of checking eligibility in advance, Andrew, the sales representative, went ahead with taking protective glass and a holder from my phone for the trade-in first. After spending four hours trying to buy a new phone, I left the store empty-handed. Manager Carlo was also totally unable to help. Speechless. And getting apple products used to be such a joyful and exciting experience. (And I'm not even talking about 20 minutes wait to get any of the employees to help you).

I had an appointment at 3:45 PM on September 1st to replace the battery on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, the Apple Store staff pointed out a tiny crack in the bottom right corner of the screen—it was so small you could barely see it without looking closely. They insisted that I had to replace the screen before they would replace the battery, and the screen replacement cost $329. I told them the screen was still fully functional and I didn't want to replace it. They then told me the battery replacement would take about two and a half hours and sent my phone to the repair department. When I went back around 5:50 PM to pick it up, I found they hadn't performed the repair; they still insisted on the screen replacement first. I refused at first, but finally agreed after they promised to cover the cost of the screen myself. I confirmed with the staff three times that they would pay for it. Since they didn't have a screen in stock for my specific model that day, they told me to wait 3 to 5 business days—or until I received an email—and then return for the repair without needing a new appointment. I received the email on September 6th and arrived at the store around 3:30 PM, only to find they wouldn't cover the cost of the screen after all. Consequently, I didn't get the battery replaced; just like before, they adamantly demanded a screen replacement, even though my current screen was still perfectly usable. The weather that day was terrible—it was raining—and it matched my mood. I feel that if you can't do something, you shouldn't promise it to others. Apple, do you think this is the right way to handle things?
