The staff VCA West Coast were fantastic! Efficient, extremely friendly, and informative. I walked in to see this little kitten's (I was chosen through the cat distribution system) name on the appointment board! Class.
Thank you to everyone today for making our visit pleasant!
Sincerely
Timothy and Buddy

This was the second Emergency Vet that I went to to figure out why my poor yorkiepoo was having erratic behavior at home. We came here at 10 pm Monday night and left at 1:20 am. I will say there was a wait time of about an hour and a half until we were finally serviced however this was not an issue as there were other patients that needed more critical care. We came to get a second opinion about my dogs behavior and the Doctor (I believe he went by Lee) was very kind and helpful. Unfortunately my dog's symptoms were not very helpful and trying to pinpoint her issues was a challenge. However, he was kind enough to get an x-ray of her stomach as we were concerned about blockages and luckily there was no issue. The results came out very quickly as well and we were able to come home relieved that there was nothing serious about my baby :) I really recommend this place. They are thoughtful and take great care in trying to figure out what's wrong with your pet. I hope I never have an emergency again but if I do, I will definitely come back here. I will say it is on the pricier side and I'm blessed that we were able to be able to get these services.

I just wanted to share my overall wonderful experience with VCA- my sweet elderly cat, Nemo, had so many health problems, and after getting horrible care from my primary vet a year ago, I was referred to VCA internal care- it was the best thing this awful primary vet ever did for me. Prior to our internal care appointment, my cat got incredibly sick with what ended up being a serious infection, and I rushed him to their emergency department. From the front desk staff, to the techs, to the ER doctor, everyone was not only professional and top notch, but extremely warm and kind. I was in my third trimester of my first pregnancy, and having rushed Nemo to VCA, I didn’t have anything with me. The ER vet (I wish I could remember her name), made sure staff brought me snacks and that I was taken care of while they were figuring out how to take care of Nemo. We ended up hospitalizing for a few days, and they were all so wonderful calling, giving me updates, and they even discharged Nemo early (so I got some money back- this place will not take advantage of you). A few weeks later, I met with our internal care specialist, Dr. Bonaparte, who was without question the kindest veterinary professional I’ve ever worked with in all my years as a pet owner. She is knowledgeable, thoughtful, and collaborative. She truly went the extra mile for my boy, and he was in the greatest of hands. Sadly, Nemo naturally declined with his many illnesses, and a few days ago it was clear he could not go on. I took him back to VCA, and they supported me in my decision to peacefully let him go. I’ll admit the ER doc who ultimately put him to sleep (I can’t remember her name either) wasn’t overly warm, but she was nice enough and did comfort me as there were a lot of tears from me. Again, the vet techs and the front desk treated me with such compassion and care. Overall, I can’t thank VCA enough for the outstanding care they gave Nemo and me. I genuinely don’t trust most Veterinary hospitals because I think there is such a high chance of being taken advantage of, but this place has nothing but authentic pet lovers, and I cannot recommend them enough.

The hospital staff was very friendly and caring throughout our visit. However, the payment and surgery process could have been handled better.
We brought our dog in and learned she had cancer that would require surgery. Unfortunately, the oncologist was unavailable at the time, so we were not fully informed about the procedure, what it would entail, or the doctor’s overall recommendation before being asked to sign consent forms.
Because the surgery involved a significant financial commitment and a major decision for our family, we asked for an hour to discuss whether we wanted to move forward. Despite that request, we received a follow-up call only about 10 minutes later, which did not feel like enough time to properly consider everything.
The experience left us feeling somewhat pressured to make a quick decision regarding both payment and surgery before we had been given complete information from the surgeon. While the staff was kind, I believe the communication and timing surrounding major medical decisions could be improved.
